Skyline R33 GT-R. Nismo + Mines Stage 1 Prepared.






This stunning condition Skyline GT-R has been lavished with Nismo cosmetic and suspension modifications together with Mines stage 1 tuning. It's been impeccably kept and shows all signs of a car that's been gently used. These conspire to make a responsive and entirely usable road car for the UK, capable of a reliable 400 - 420 bhp with minor upgrades.
Aesthetic exterior improvements: The front lip is also of the later type - deeper and more purposeful. The skirts are Nismo as are the rear valence extensions. Nismo carbon look B pilar trims are fitted together with Nismo rear spoiler end caps. Clear front indicators and side repeaters (Nismo) also help give it a much more modern look. Paintwork bodywork is superb and unmarked throughout. The wheels are Nismo LM GT-1 2 piece forged items of 18'' diameter with tyres of size: 265/35/R18 at each corner.
Interior improvements: A full array of carbon look panels improves modernises the interior: The dashboard, centre console and door inserts have been replaced. An alloy ''Team Impul'' gear knob has replaced the original. Alloy pedal covers are also fitted. The Rev counter is an after mkt. FET unit complete with built in LED's to indicate optimum shift revs and redline. These are user settable. A high quality Panasonic CD/MD/receiver with DSP (Approx 200W) complete with removable face is supplied free of charge.
Performance Upgrades: Mines Stage 1 tuning brings power of this example to around 370 bhp at 0.9 bar of boost. A Mines VX ROM ECU has replaced the original, enabling the car to safely run above standard boost settings with the use of an HKS 3rd generation electronic boost controller. An uprated Mine's stainless steel rear section with dual silencers allows the turbos to spool faster whilst the sound remains acceptably quiet. A pair of HKS Direct Drive air filters allow unrestricted breathing as well as making the waste gates audiable. A Greddy uprated aluminium radiator gives added protection for track days and harder driving. Samco hoses are fitted for both radiator and intercooler. Nismo oil and (1.3 Bar) uprated radiator caps are fitted.An earthing kit is tidily installed to enhance spark plug performance. These modifications will allow the car to run safely on UK fuel at up to 0.9 Bar. To obtain 400 - 420 bhp we recommend fitting an uprated equal length down pipe, a catalyst replacement pipe and a Power FC ECU. These would give the turbos much less restriction. Combine this with a full rolling road mapping session at GT Art (10 minutes from our workshop) and it'll be perfectly set for UK safe UK use at 1 bar of boost. Suspension consists of Nismo S-Tune top-adjustable (Damping) shock absorbers with Nismo springs. These are especially recommended by Nismo as replacements which enhance handling and grip, yet retain comfort and composure for road use. Although the ride height is slightly lowered, it remains high enough for general use. Note there is a thick alloy strut brace fitted - which also doubles as a master cylinder brace.
Main Specifications include: Hicas 4WS, ATTESA system for electronic 4WD bias control, Brembo brakes, Climate Control A/C, PAS, Central Locking, ABS, velour seats, tinted windows, adjustable rear spoiler, original full set of fitted mats, rear privacy glass, etc.
Auction grade is 4 (Auction sheet is available). Interior is unmarked except for 2 small holes in the PVC trim adjacent to the driver's left thigh and holes on the lid for the glove box. These were created by a Sat Nav system (Previously attached to the glovebox, which has been carefully removed without trace by the last owner). These panels will be replaced with unmarked items. The exterior is in outstanding condition also. As usual we washed the car and checked it carefully. We found very minor scratches on each door mirror, 3 or 4 stone chips on the leading edge of each front wing and two stone chips on the bonnet. These will be professionally touched in. The front lip is scratched on parts - so this will need repainting. Both the rear valence extensions have some paint chips too, so they'll also be repainted. The panels are straight with no wavyness from repairs - Just clean lines just as it came from the factory with. We found just 2 small pin dents on the n/s quarter - these will be professionally repaired. The wheels each have minor scratches although they're not very noticable. These can be repaired inexpensively if preferred. The tyres are each at the legal limit, so we will allow a budget of £600 towards replacements of the owner's choice. Note: If sourced in Japan, we are able to fit high performance S-Tyres (only available in Japan) prior to shipment. In addition, as the oil looks around 2,000 miles old, we'll be giving the car a full service inclusive of a timing belt and tensioner change.
Condition is excellent and clearly this car's been cared for fastidiously well. Brakes show little wear - indicating gentle use. The engine bay is in original and clean condition. It's also notable that the car shows no signs at all of rust underneath or in the engine bay. There are only very few stone chips (Which will be professionally touched in) on the leading edge of the front wings and one on the bonnet to show the car's use on Motorways. The engine has very high oil pressure from cold at over 6kg/cm2. Once warmed to normal operating temp it shows almost 3 kg/cm2. These are signs of an excellent engine that's been carefully maintained. The black paint on the inlet manifold is still intact - which serves to indicate the car's not been used mostly for short trips, but for longer journeys. This has been a non smoker's car since new - ashtray and cigar lighter are unused.
Test Drive: Reveals this car as tight and very well preserved. Idle is silky smooth from start up, no rattles or squeaks from the interior, good smooth braking stability. Engine note is sporty without being excessively loud. Induction roar is heard through the induction kit and the sound of the dump valves are audiable when the throttle's released. Power is approx 370 bhp in present tune. It feels like a car that's never been driven hard and there is evidence this is the case, given that the original and body kit paintwork is excellent with very few stone chips. All signs show this hasn't been a Skyline that's been driven hard and modifications are sensible to improve the car yet still allow it to remain relaxing to drive for daily use.
