DESCRIPTION

1994 (November) RX-7 Type R II Bathurst. 5 Speed. Documented as speedo upgraded to new 300km/h Mazdaspeed @7,163km. 80,222km from new. Usual RX-7 Spec includes: Air Conditioning, ABS, 4 Piston front callipers, fully independent suspension will double alloy wishbones, Power Steering, Power Windows, Remote Controlled Door Mirrors, Central Locking. Fitted mats are also included...all the standard spec. Interior. Note that the R2 doesn't have the back seat (not useful anyway), but lightweight storage bins and a plastic (removable) upright section seperating this section to the rear. R2's are particularly sought after by taller RX-7 drivers, because they allow extra seat travel (After modification to the runners).

Exterior improvements: Suspension springs of 30mm lowered and uprated specification are fitted. Dual HKS PFC induction kit, Cusco alloy strut brace, , uprated rear exhaust section, Volk Racing 17" 2 piece forged alloy wheels shod with 255/40/ZR17 235/40/ZR17 sports tyres in good condition. These modifications combined should give around 290 bhp at 0.9 Bar boost. Suspension struts good as standard and with lowered springs not harsh, but a bit harder than standard, yet affording good progressive handling to enable the car to be slid with confidence when desired.

Inside, there's a Momo "Race" Sports Steering wheel and a JVC CD/Radio unit of good quality. On the A Pilar pod are Apexi electronic Oil Temp, and boost gauges. An adjustable headlight retract controller is also fitted (Pivot RHU-M). An alloy gearknob is also fitted. In the rear there's an optional luggage cover. Tool kit is complete but doesn't include the optional spark plug remival tool. Spare wheel is unused.

On the outside, there is a new R Magic front bumper with 1999 style driving lights integrated into the front bumper. R Magic side skirts are also fitted. The rear spoiler on this car is by Mazdaspeed. Rear bumper is unknown.

We have test driven this car and can report it goes very well indeed, just like a good one is meant to. 2nd turbo from 4,500 RPM is around 350 bhp's worth of (A lot of) fun.

The interior is in good condition, with standard seats fitted. Fabric is in good condition, with no faults to report. Note that no rear seats are fitted however - if necessary we can try to source some used rear seats and side covers although this will delay shipment, perhaps. The cost of wheels, bodykit, exhaust, gauges, induction kit, springs, etc, etc, is around £6,000 total in Japan. Mostly RX-7's with spec like this and genuinely low mileage are too hard to find at affordable prices.

The car is of auction grade 3.5. There has been some paintwork to the doors on each side, but these are in good condition. It's possible to see the driver's door has been resprayed - but not easily. There is a very small scratch on the rear bumper also. Front spoiler also has some minor scratches. We expect to be taking the bumper off for shipment so it cannot be damaged in transit loading and unloading from the ship's ramps.

Overall, a stunningly good condition example with parts that look as if they haven't been fitted for very long. The car was clearly very well looked after by it's last owner.
