This RX-7 was sourced to special order for a discerning customer wanting a genuinely low mileage example in excellent condition, with extras such as bodykit, mild tuning modifications, etc. This example had previously been sourced by ourselves for a customer and friend in Tokyo - who through having used it very little during the year he owned it - decided to sell it again. It's in stunning original condition. Original specification as a Type R Bathurst 5 Speed Manual model it includes: Original lightweight cloth trimmed sports seats (This spec also includes rear seats), PAS, E/W, E/M, A/C, rear wiper, 3 channel ABS, original fitted mats. The original tool kit is complete and unused.
Additional improvements have been added too, including a genuine 1999 front bumper and splitter, together with FEED Engine brace (Stops flex of the power frame and improves traction as well as gear shift quality), Splitfire earthing kit (For enhanced spark plug performance), lowered suspension, Cusco master cylinder brace, Cusco rear strut brace, 5 Zigen cat back exhaust. There's also an Apexi high flow cat in the boot. Note also the Apexi Induction kit, uprated spark plug leads and silicone reinformed compression tube above the Y pipe. Wheels are Versus Sesto Turismos with near new sports tyres of size: 235/45-R17 (Front) 255/40/R17 (Rear).

Although nothing is required to improve it - if further power is desired we can supply from stock Apexi Power FC ECU, Hand held controller and a boost controller which can be used to obtain approx 360 bhp with other existing modifications - through mapping in the UK. Please check / inquire on www.neweraparts.com To check it, we thoroughly we washed and checked the bodywork on this car. As pictures show, the exterior is in excellent condition throughout. Auction grade of this example is was originally 4 due to age and a few small imperfections to the exterior as follows (To be repaired as part of UK preparation): The front splitter will be switched for a new one, with no paint (As it'll chip whenever it touches something otherwise - just as it already has done!). Also, there's a small scratch and pin dent on the rear quarter. The rear spoiler's paint isn't to a good standard and the original spoiler's mounting holes show marks, so we'll be respraying these and also replacing the seal on the rear window as part of work in presenting this car properly. Inside, the steering wheel's leather has shrunk on the edges at 3 9 o'clock positions. We will be fitting another steering wheel of the same brand. The rear badges will also be uprated to the 1999 type and rear lights switched for more modern RX-8 style units / 1996 type rear clusters - depending on customer's preference. We also noticed the hifi has a small clip missing from one corner. Ideally it should get a new hifi, as the original's a bit dated!
The engine is a genuine low mileage unit that has clearly not been pushed hard during it’s life - We also know the car's history the last year - the owner's 55 with small children. He's not a fast driver at all - this has been an occasional weekend toy only. Oil has been recently changed and the car shows all signs of having been regularly serviced. On older RX-7's the air pumps usually fail, especially on higher mileage examples - this one is still working just as it should be. Another good sign of a genuine low mileage example. Engine and a complete mechanical integrity check was carried out. There are no faults at all to report and the car feels tight and rattle free. With a car of such low weight, standard power is plenty with 0-60 in 5 seconds and a top speed of 160 mph. Handling is also amongst the very best available combined with double wishbone alloy suspension as standard.There are no mechanical fautls. This RX-7 twin turbo pulls very strongly - with good idle, no noticable flat spots, good strong brakes, good clutch, etc. It drives much like a 2-3 year old car and performance is excellent, once again reminding us of how good these cars are, even as standard. No smoke on start up and it idles well, giving an excellent spread of power throughout the rev range, with strong power from around 2,500 rpm all the way to the red line. Perfect. Also noticed the suspension is firm yet supple in feel. The interior is also in completely original condition with only a small gromet on the centre speaker trim to report, a small trim missing on the edge of the original hifi and missing rear suspension turret covers. These later items are to be replaced too.
This RX-7 has clearly been used only for leisure and been well taken care of throughout it's life. It's rare to find an older RX-7 with such low genuine mileage in the condition shown and the improvements included. It’s clearly evident it's been well looked after. As this is not an extremely tuned example, it can be used for daily driving will be a reliable, good looking RX-7. Also being of very low mileage and with no modifications, you can expect this example to give around 70,000 miles in total of reliable motoring and retain it's value strongly. For complete peace of mind, a comprehensive 12 month warranty (same cover as with a new car, essentially) will be supplied with this car also covering rotor tips and water seals.
