DESCRIPTION

This Lancer Evo 6 GSR was sourced to order. During our search, we found as usual that the majority of Evo 6 GSR's on sale in Japan have rust underneath, due to these being excellent all weather cars for use in colder conditions, etc. combined with having no underbody protection as standard. We also found that interiors usually suffer too, especially the driver's seat.
This example was an exception. Virtually no corrosion at all on it (Except from the usual corrosion caused by battery acid leakage from hard cornering), with an excellent interior, it looks like a car that's been mostly used on the Motorway. As it's still restricted to 112 mph top speed, it's not lived a hard life.

Standard equipment includes: PAS, Dual SRS Airbags, Momo steering wheel, ABS, Brembo brakes, Permanent 4WD system, Anti Yaw, Water jet to intercooler, Rear Wiper, Central Locking, Electric mirrors with retract mode, Factory fited Recaros, etc. Optional extras also include fitted mats. On the dashboard there's an Apexi boost gauge, and a turbo timer located right of the steering column. Note this can be set to display A/F ratio. Audio consists of a high quality Carrozzeria CD/MD/Radio of 200W. Front speakers are uprated, but for some reason rear speakers haven't been fitted. Audio equipment is supplied free of charge with this car. Uprated performance parts: Suspension has been upgraded with TEIN Type HA coilovers complete with camber adjustable pillow ball upper mounts, to be able to dial out understeer under hard use, such as trackdays. There's also an uprated alloy strut bar fitted. For response, an Apexi air induction kit has been installed and the nearside bumper vent's been neatly fitted with a Billion cold air duct. The battery has also been relocated.. The exhaust is a Rallyart original stainless steel system from the cat back. Wheels are original and fitted with near new Falken Azenis sports tyres of size 235/45ZR17. Note the rear lights have been changed for Lexus style items. If originals are preferred, we are able to supply used items at around £100 cost. For this car, to take advantage of the breathing modifications already fitted, we'd recommend an Apexi AVC-R boost controller, to bring power to around 350 bhp. This is available at discount we can also offer a multitude of other performance and cosmetic enhancements at excellent prices. This will be more comprehensive than any description we could put here.

Driving: Perfect with no faults at all to report. Once the turbo came in, it pulled very willingly! Clutch is fine, with plenty of life remaining. Didn't explore the handling much as the limits are so high, it's unlikely to slide at anything but insane corner entry speeds. AYC worked fine. Brakes pulled up with no drama at all. No signs of warped discs,or anything like that. In fact, it drove like a new and tight example with no faults noticed at all. Even a short trip around the block served to prove this is a helluva fun car to drive. Feels so polished and precise!!

Auction grade is 4.0 (Auction sheet is available). The ashtray shows no use since new and the inteior is in good condition with no faults to report at all. Interior has no faults to report aside from a lack of rear speakers and minor wear to the steering wheel (Can be restored inexpensively through Newera Developments). The boot looks as if it's not carried much luggage in it's life. Although rust free beneath, the tray for the original location of the battery has some corrosion. This seems to be common on Lancers and we would guess it comes from spillage caused by the high G forces these Evo's are capable of. It would be possible to repair and restore this, but with some waxoyl on it, any further corrosion should be arrested anyway. There are some light scratches to 2 of the wheels, also - too small to need repair, only noticable when checking closely. The seals where the rear arches join the bodywork have discoloured from age and so for soem reason the previous owner decided to touch them in with Silver paint.
The panels are all straight and show this car's been well cared for. There are minor scratches on some of the bodywork, as follows: Front bumper has been repainted on the o/s corner, but needs refinishing to perfect. On the rear bumper there's a small scratch on the n/s corner. On the bonnet there are 3-4 very small stone chips. Each of these faults will be repaired as part of full UK te the front bumper is notably free of stone chips - which helps confirm this car's not been driven hard at all. Note also that the callipers are fading in colour due to heat - this is common on all Evos from Version 5 6's onwards (Previous models didn't have Brembo brakes as std). We also recommend waxoyling it heavily underneath, in the engine bay and in cavities, to maintain the rust free condition the car's in now.

Complete with full UK conversions, E-SVA and first UK registration, MOT, 12 month's comprehensive warranty, full valetting and 6 month's road tax but excluding paintwork, this car was supplied at just: £11,365 OTR.
