The Altezza RS 200 Z Edition is a Japan only version of the Lexus is200. With a 4 cylinder 16 Valve 2.0 litre variable valve timing BEAMS engine, it produces 210 bhp, as opposed to the European model’s 6 cylinder engine – which makes only 170 bhp. The gearbox in the manual version is 6 speed – with close ratios to allow maximum use of the higher revs on which this engine thrives. The main difference between the RS 200 Z Edition and European versions, however – is in the handling. With the Yamaha designed 3S Beams engine being significantly shorter and mounted well back in the engine bay, there’s excellent weight distribution, making this a car that handles very well for a 4 door family Saloon. Combined with Toyota / Lexus build quality and excellent value, this is a car that’s hard to beat as an all rounder.

Condition Report: This example was chosen for it's quality. Panels are pin dent free and all have original factory paint, with no previous repairs. There's also absolutely no corrosion beneath. Interior is in excellent condition. Although the ashtray and cigar lighter are unused, the car has been owned by a light smoker. To help remove the very light smell of cigarettes, we have placed a de-odorising canister inside the car, which will stay there whilst the car's shipped to UK. As already mentioned, the bodywork's in mint original condition. The front lip has previously been repainted and there's some touched in scratches on the nearside side skirt. These will be repainted as part of full UK the bonnet there's some minor light scratches on the surface. These will be polished using rubbing compound. The documentation for the car shows the original gauge cluster was replaced under warranty at 28,381km. Current kilometres are 35,495km - therefore total is: 63,876km = 39,699 miles from new. When recalibrating this car's speedometer to miles, we will set mileage correctly.

Test Drive: Engine is in good health and BEAMS system is working well. Transmission system is smooth and quiet in operation with clutch still having a long life ahead. The brakes have no warping to the discs, or any signs of needing any imminent replacement. Note also, oil has also recently been changed and this car has been regularly serviced and maintained. There are no faults at all to report with this car.
