This particular example was sourced to order. Customer wanted a high quality GT-T witn bodykit, alloy wheels and as many other modifications as possible, with black as a first choice of colour. After a good 3 months of only finding the usual average cars, we can across this example. It's only the 3rd Skyline Tommy Kaira R34 GT-T we have ever been able to source. These are rare and usually prohibitively expensive, so when we managed to find this example at an affordable price, we snapped it up! By far the best example we've found in over a year.
The Skyline GT-T is a hugely capable sports tourer with performance that will enable it to slay most cars in it's path, yet it still has refinement, a practical boot and looks that are still as fresh today, as when this model was first introduced in 1998 (Production of all Skyline R34's ceased in August 2002). Even as standard, they're hugely impressive and fun to drive. As they're now no longer in production and top examples are in short supply, demand has stayed strong in Japan and prices are still as strong today, as they were 5 years ago. This is good news, as it means prices are unlikely to drop significantly into the future (As Nissan isn't making any more turbo Skylines until the R35 GT-R is introduced in 2007) and so these will continue to make excellent investments, especially in manual form, which is the more desirable spec. for driving enthusiasts!
Tommy Kaira Other Performance Spec: This is the highest spec'd Tommy Kaira 25R of the three examples we have sourced complete with a numbered plaque in the engine bay to confirm this car was prepared by this company. Aero kit consists of Tommy Kaira front bumper with PIAA remote controlled driving lights, sill and rear valence aero sections and alloy GT rear wing. Note the original Tommy Kaira set of 3 boot badges too. Wheels are also signature 18" items controlled by Bilstein gas filled struts and springs. Inside, the speedo unit is uprated with a digital readout. Exhaust is a Tommy Kaira item too which gives a powerful yet acceptably quiet sound combined with the induction sound of an HKS SPF induction kit (the standard recirculating dump valve can be heard operating through it). The oil cap is also a signature item. Note that this example is also fitted with optional traction control in addition to other high spec. The sound from the 2.5L 6 Cylinder Turbo is subtle, yet indicative of the performance available, giving a deep tone throughout the rev range. The standard catalyst remains in place, keeping this car street legal. Factory Fitted Strut Brace is also present to further improve handling. Fitted mats are also Tommi Kaira. Although these have no holes or major wear, we'd recommend replacing with Nismo items, which will give the interior a much improved quality feel. Available inexpensively through
Factory fitted equiment includes: Traction control, ABS, dual SRS airbags with leather SRS airbag steering wheel, climate control air conditioning, electric glass sunroof, UV cut glass with privacy glass in the rear and rear wiper, electric windows and electric mirrors with retract mode, etc. Headlights are original Nissan option Xenon HID units. In conversions, we will be making one of the reversing lights into a foglight on this model, so it will look like a completely standard factory fitted item. Neat!
Interior: A non smoker's car. The interior is in excellent original condition, with no significant wear to seats, steering wheel, instruments or plastics. Equipment includes: Techtom engine data display unit, latest generation HKS EVC 5 boost controller (2 pre-settable boost programs), PIAA remote control for driving lights and mount for sat nav system. Razo alloy pedal covers are fitted. Audio consists of a Carrozzeria (Pioneer) Mos Fet amplified 50W x 4 CD / MD / Radio with high quality upgraded speakers (Incl. remote tweeters at the front) at each corner, combined with a small subwoofer located aft of the drivers seat . Audio, Navigation electronic equipment comes free of charge with the car. Note that no gear knob is currently fitted. This is expected to follow together with the Sat Nav Screen the car's documents. Sat Nav won't work in the UK and would best be removed. The remote starter unit is unlikely to work in combination with an alarm and so this too can be removed. We'd also recommend a more tidy installation of the boost controller and electronic displays. Our UK workshop can complete the above changes as additional work, if preferred. Further Cosmetic Performance Improvements: We recommend R33 GT-R D Speed clear front repeaters and clear white Nismo repeaters for the sides! Nismo carbon B Pilar trims would also help give an even classier look! Remember, we can supply any part to improve this car, from intercooler, ECU upgrade, injector, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator and boost controller, cat replacement pipe, even a rear diffuser, Nismo clear indicators, B Pilar trims, replacement Defi gauges and much more - all at discounted prices compared to other suppliers! Being in Japan, we can source anything that's available here. See for ideas. Auction grade is 4 (Copy of auction sheet is with the pictures). The Exterior is in excellent condition throughout. There's some minor damage to the edges of the front bumper's splitter and each corner. The rear bumper has some large touch up marks on the o/s corner and the small silver aero parts are paint chipped from use over the car's life. These faults will be repaired as part of preparation in the UK. We also noted that the locking wheel nuts are missing - so these will be replaced with matching alloy locks. There are also other minor faults: Each of the large Tommy Kaira stickers has a small section that's come off on the rear quarter. The bonnet also has minor stone chips and there's 3 very small touch up marks on the driver's door. These are too minor to repair. One other fault hasn't been included in the price, as an estimate is needed in UK. The n/s/f wheel rim has a cosmetic dent on it. Repairs of these are usually inexpensive, but without sending the wheel we cannot get a price - so this can only be arranged after arrival to UK workshop.
Test Drive of this Skyline revealed no faults at all. Oil pressure at start up is over 4kg/cm2 and settles to just over 2kg/cm2 at idle when completely warmed. There are no rattles, no warped discs, no problems at all. Excellent mechanical condition throughout. Strong performance with the traction control light flashing whist in 2nd gear, whilst we pushed the car hard to make sure there were no faults to be found (After warming it up thoroughly of course). Exceptionally good performance for a near standard example is indicative of a good strong engine. Traction control switched off allows the car to drift under power.
Skyline R34 GT-R looks, superb performance (Approx 290 bhp) handling to match (uprated suspension, Hicas 4WS, Standard Torsen Limited Slip Differential, etc) with much lower price, insurance and running costs. These are excellent performance cars, complete with an engine closely based on the legendary GTR's RB26 - this one's fitted with a 2.5 litre RB25 instead complete with variable valve timing. Single turbo, so much less lag than a twin turbo GTR, yet capable of producing 360 bhp reliably and easily with only basic tuning that through and our workshop's professional facilities is lower cost than you might think!
