This RX-7 is modified with some of the very best performance improving components that are only generally available on the Japanese market. It's also in outstanding condition throughout. It's clear to us from the age of the components fitted - that modifications have been added recently. Even the wheels are still like new!!
Performance Modifications: This is the first RX-7 we have sourced, fitted with the ultimate intercooler / radiator setup available for street use RX-7's. Knight Sports has modified this example and fitted their 3rd generation high capacity radiator and intercooler V-mount kit, with the A/C radiator housed between. As air is fed through the front bumper, it's split in two directions: This kit is unique in the way that radiator's hot air flow is directed underneath the car, instead of into the engine bay, as std.. Air is also forced through the uprated intercooler to keep intake charge as dense as possible. The V-Mount kit was originally developed for trackday use by Knight Sports customers and is well known for keeping temperatures absolutely stable under hardest use. Also fitted is a carbon-fibre composite cold air box housing an oil impregnated mesh filter within. It's a system that works particularly well (We've had exactly the same earlier generation kit on our car for over 2 years!) for twin turbo RX-7's. Radiator hosing is by Samco. Needless to say, Knight Sport's quality of workmanship leaves nothing to be desired - they're probably the best quality RX-7 tuners worldwide...!The ECU is an Apexi Power FC, mapped by K.S. of course. It comes complete with a hand held controller. This unit is ideal for use in the UK. Exhaust is a Mazdaspeed A-Spec cat-back unit. With this spec, power is approximately 330 bhp at present.
Possible modifications for the future: Power can easily inexpensively be increased with fitment of an uprated downpipe, cat replacement pipe and a boost controller - which at 0.9 Bar would give approximately 370 bhp - combined with quicker response and a nicer noise from the exhaust too. Engine spec would then be similar to what our own car's was until recently - which makes for a very quick and enjoyable RX-7!! We also recommend an uprated vented bonnet to give the V-mount's intercooler maximum air flow. These modifications would make this car look even more amazing - although there's certainly no need any further additions - this will be without doubt one of the most admired RX-7's in the UK!!

Suspension and Wheels: Zeal high quality coilover suspension is fitted at each corner - giving excellent quality ride and even more progressive handling than standard. These units are completely easily adjustable for settings, to tune for track or road use. Note also there's a Cusco front strut brace also fitted. Wheels are AVS model 6 forged lightweight alloys, fitted with nearly new Bridgestone Potenza RE-01 sports tyres of size 234/45/ZR17 255/40/ZR17. Of course, wheels are of the exact correct offset for RX-7 fitment.
Cosmetic Improvements: An Indus N-Spec 1999 Style front bumper is fitted, complete with carbon fibre cannards at each corner, specially moulded to fit this bumper perfectly. The rear spoiler is an original Mazdaspeed uprated item. We feel this car would benefit from a pair of FEED carbon skirts and perhaps a FEED Carbon rear diffuser... which would make this one mean looking RX-7!! Parts can be fitted prior to shipment to save on carriage, if requested.
Interior: A full array of Apexi electronic white faced gauges show oil temp / water temp and turbo boost accurately. These can be mounted in a purpose made housing as on our own car, or alternatives - equally they can be left mounted as they are. The Power FC ECU's hand held controller can be either attached to the dashboard with Velcro, or stored in the glovebox. The Controller can also monitor and display up to 8 different parameters, which adds to the information the gauges can give. A 200W Alpine MDA-W900J MD/CD/Radio player is also fitted and supplied free of charge with this car. Note that in the rear there are no (useless) seats, but instead two storage bins and a shelf. The back window is tinted, so nobody can see into the luggage space from the outside. Note also, there's a MazdaSpeed carbon gearknob also fitted.
Original equipment includes: PAS, P/W, AC, ABS, Alcantara suede seats, fitted mats, front strut brace, unused original tool kit spare, rear strut brace, etc. The Ashtray and the cigar lighter are unused.
Oil pressure is high, regularly serviced and well maintained, - this car runs very sweetly - just an an RX-7 is meant to. We test drove this car and found it to drive much like new! With no squeaks or rattles at all when passing over bumps, an engine that pulls strongly all the way from idle, brakes that have virtually no wear and paintwork gleaming as if this were a brand new RX-7 - The last owner clearly cared to the point of obsession about his car. It's as tight as can be, smells much like new inside too.
In addition to our vast experience in selecting quality RX-7's for this example it's also worth noting that with Knight Sport's work (Our RX-7 is looked after by them) they always test the engine's compression before carrying out any modifications to make sure the car's healthy - and would not fit mods to an engine that wasn't going to last. Clearly this car's only been modified recently, as parts are nearly new. It's been deemed healthy by some of the most experienced rotary tuning specialsts in the world.
With so few stone chips and paint in superb condition throughout the car, it's evident this car was always well cared for and never driven hard. Total cost of V mount, fitting, suspension, wheels, exhaust and interior modifications are around £8,000 worth in Japan - Showing once again this is a well looked after cared for example.
The auction grade is 4.5 (Auction sheet available). Condition is outstanding. There is a small crack on the n/s corner of the front bumper. On the passenger door there are 2 small pin dents and also one on the n/s quarter. On the tailgate, there's a 3cm scratch. Rear bumper has some minor paint fracture marks. Ther's a tiny stone chip on the edge of the driver's door and also a tiny pin dent there too. It appears that some different mirrors have been fitted in the past, as there's a small hole on each door, where these would have been afixed. Also, on the roof there are some water marks that will either polish off, or may need respraying to perfect. Although mentioned here, each of these faults will be taken care of and professionaly repaired to present this car in immaculate condition upon completion. Note: there is one hidden burn mark on the driver's seat as shown in pictures. This will also be repaired in the UK by an upholstery repair specialist.
Including cost of minor paintwork and repairs as described above, full UK conversions, de-restriction and recalibration of odometer to miles, new MOT, 12 month's comprehensive warranty and a full valet before completion, this RX-7 is available for: £10,850.
