This is the first example of an R33 GT-R in rare midnight purple, we have sourced so far this year, with uprated turbos fitted! It's a rarer V-Spec model, to boot!
Performance Improvements: This car has been tuned to stage 2 inclusive of engine internals. The engine was from an R34 GT-R, but according to auction declaration has been fitted with Nismo forged N1 racing pistons, Tomei forged lightweight conrods and Tomei Poncam uprated camshafts. Turbos are Nismo N1 with steel internals. These are of similar size to standard but can boost up to 1.35 bar safely and are rated to 280 bhp each (560 bhp total). Injectors are 555cc HKS items. The air box is by ARC. This has not one, but two elements - with the second located on the underside. These give excellent high flow filtration, whilst also allowing unrestricted air flow. As a side effect, these also enable the wastegates to be heard when the throttle is released. Intercooler is by Trust and there's an HKS hard pipe kit fitted to replace the standard rubber pipes going to the inlet. Boost is controlled by an HKS EVC 3rd generation type - a controller known for it's excellent accuracy and control. The downpipes are Nismo items which give noticably better response at higher revs. A cat replacement pipe is fitted and the rest of the exhaust appears to be a Top Secret cat back system. This combined system is not excessively loud, although it sounds fairly special under power. Lots of attention has been paid to cooling, with a huge Fwin double capacity racing radiator replacing the original, combined with a Grex (Greddy) remote oil filter mount and thermostatically controlled oil cooler located in front of the radiator. In addition, there is another oil cooler added, beneath the car in front of the cross member - to provide maximumised engine protection! In the engine bay, there's also a Cusco brake master cylinder stopper, to give added feel to the brake pedal.The clutch is a Nismo item - upgraded to cope with the extra power this car is capable of. Auction sheet declaration quotes 500 bhp - which with the modifications fitted would be right. It appears the last owner removed the ECU previously fitted before sale and replaced with a standard ECU, or the standard ECU has been re-chipped. We cannot be sure, so didn't drive the car at above 1 bar of boost to be safe. We will include an Apexi Power FC with this car. Please note UK mapping costs are not included. We are able to offer mapping in house from £250 + VAT. To complete the spec for use with UK fuel, we recommend the following minor additional extras to get approx 500 bhp safely - as follows: Upgrade to a set of 700cc injectors (Not essential, as there are 555 cc injectors fitted, but these will run at close to maximum duty at 1.3 bar of boost), plus a SARD uprated 280l/h fuel pump and a SARD Racing fuel pressure regulator. These are inexpensive items, together, costing £750 approx. With these fitted, the engine can be mapped to run on UK 98 RON fuel at up to 1.3 bar, which should give around 500 bhp. These performance upgrades and more, are available inexpensively from - We carry out any engine tuning and mapping to highest professional standards at £45.00 + VAT per hour labour.Suspension, Wheels Brakes: Steering control is improved with the use of Cusco pillow ball tension rods at the front. Also fitted are fully adjustable Cusco Zero - 2E coilovers. These are very good quality items and well suited for road use - and an excellent choice for trackdays too. Damping can be easily adjusted from the top of each unit. Ride height is adjustable too. A full set of some of the most sought after alloys for a Skyline are fitted - Original monoblock lightweight forged alloy bronze coloured 18 x 10 J Volk Racing TE37 alloys. Tyres are Yokomama Advan Neuva of size 265/35/ZR18. Note, although legal, these are over half worn, so will need replacing soon.The front brake discs are not original. These have been overheated from track use, have cracked and grumble under use on the road. We will supply new original discs and new Endless CC-X performance pads with this car, fitted as part of full UK er exterior improvements: Side skirts are similar to Nismo original items. A Nismo original rear bumper is also fitted. Note that a Nismo bonnet lip and Nismo rear spoiler carbon covers are also fitted. Further aesthetic improvements combined to make this a Skyline GT-R V-Spec even more unique are available from We suggest: Nismo clear side repeaters, D-Speed clear front indicators, LED rear lights, Nismo B pilar carbon trims, Carbon fibre Nismo replica bumper vents. As the front bumper is to be resprayed as part of full UK OTR preparation, only cutting and fitting of these vents would be extra.

Interior upgrades condition: The Driver's seat is a Sparco FIA approved race item. If preferred, we can replace this with a top quality latest design reclinable Recaro seat and rails we currently hold in stock, free of charge. Alternatively we can source an original R33 GT-R driver's seat at low cost (Around £200).Greddy 60 mm diameter gauges are fitted as follows: A pilar pod houses oil temp and oil pressure gauges. On the right of the instrument panel is a water temp gauge. Boost gauge is located on the centre console. There's also an FET Turbo timer also fitted and pedals have alloy covers on them. Hifi is a high quality Kenwood MOS FET MD/Radio unit with 45 x 4 W Peak R.M.S. power. This unit is included free of charge with the car.Carbon fibre look leather gaiters specially tailored for the R33 GT-R are also available inexpensively through - these would give the centre console area a much improved appearance! Condition of the interior is good with only a small burn mark on the passenger front seat and a stain on one rear floor mat to report. Fault on the seat is too small to repair. There are Nismo floor mats. We can obtain original used but very clean R34 GT-R black deep pile floor mats at cost of around £150.00.
Standard Dealer Option Specifications: This is a rarer and more desirable V-Spec model, complete with active electronically controlled rear Limited Slip Differential and adoption of ATTESA E-TS PRO system for the 4WD bias control. Brakes are Brembo at each corner with 4 pistons on each front calliper and 2 pistons on each rear. Also included as standard: Climate Control A/C, PAS, Central Locking, ABS, velour seats, privacy rear windows, adjustable rear spoiler, etc. Note being a 1996 model, this car has the later style steering wheel, with a passenger SRS airbag.
Engine: Excellent oil pressure (2.5kg/cm2 at idle when warmed to operating temp with ambient Japanese summer temp of 35 Deg C). Clutch feels as if it has plenty of life remaining (Standard unit). Brake discs are also in excellent low wear condition. We test drove this example and found it felt tight and very together. At 1 bar it's making roughly 400 bhp. Engine note is considerably sharper and sounds of a different tune than standard as a result of uprated internals and camshafts. Idle is smooth from start up, no rattles or squeaks from the interior, with excellent handling too. Gearbox is also good, with no faults to report and the Nismo uprated clutch feels as if it has plenty of travel remaining - it's approximately half worn.
Auction grade is 1 (Auction sheet is available). The reason for grade 1 is because of the non original turbos and other modifications. The front lip spoiler has been scratched. There are small stone chips to the bonnet, front bumper, leading edges of front wings and to the rear arches too. On the driver's door there's some light scratches. The side skirts and rear bumper have some bubbling to the paint. Note the wind deflector on the driver's side is missing. This will also be replaced therefore. Wheels will be acid washed to present them in near new condition. To complete the car to our usual high standards, we will be painting the bonnet, front bumper and spoiler, front wings, skirts, rear bumper and rear quarters, as well as the doors, to make sure the paint is properly blended in colour finish - as part of the full OTR package. We will also supply new original discs and new Endless CC-X performance pads to be fitted as part of our UK preparation work.
In total, well over £20,000 has been spent by the previous owner in improving this car. The engine work has been relatively recently completed and oil pressure is high, inducating internal condition. It's likely the oil pump would also have been uprated, as well as many other items such as head gasket, etc. although not declared on the auction sheet. It has been used at high speed, which has resulted in the stone chips to panels. These faults will be corrected in any case, as part of our complete OTR preparation.If you're looking for the best specification of R33 GT-R available for road use, with attention paid to drivability and minimal turbo lag, this car's been prepared to excellent standards! Note also that despite the mileage, the engine's from an R34 GT-R and has also had the bottom end completely rebuilt with uprated items. Even this, in the UK would cost in excess of £6,000 to do - to an original engine, yet alone a later model's RB26 engine!
