Skyline R32 GT-R - Tuned by Mines with Robson Interior Conversion - Stunning!

For about 5 years front extensive experience sourcing these for over 15 years we've been predicting that 32 GT-R's were destined to become prized classics and now not before time - we're sadly seeing the best examples fetching increasingly higher prices in Japan, making it very difficult to buy replacement stock. It's a no-brainer that prices in other countries will rise sharply in the not too distant future, especially as the US market has long been wanting to import these cars legally and as of this year as they're 25 years old, demand for early models is skyrocketing... The R32 GT-R is a playstation generation cult car and was built by Nissan to show off what it was capable of during the Japanese bubble economy and has now become a legend, sold only in Japan with a sprinkling of examples in Australia officially. Many are already dead from neglect, abuse and poor quality modifications so there are few really nice examples left, even in Japan.
This example is one of the best we've had has been beautifully preserved and subtly improved, especially with regard to the interior, which we have had renewed with a high quality re-trim to seats and door panel inserts by Robson Leather; Japan's most respected specialist trimmer. They have completed many top-quality re-trims on Skylines in years past and are well respected in the Skyline GT-R community of Japan.
Performance modifications: Power cosmetics have been improved for enhanced but sensible road use. Stage 1 tuning has been completed by Mine's with a ROM ECU which will be good for up to 0.95 bar combined with a Nur Spec cat-back exhaust complete with removable baffle insert. The exhaust is unrestrictive, sporty, but not too loud. For safety preservation the previous owner set the boost to a conservative 0.75 bar (M's boost controller with baffle fitted). It's making around 300 bhp at this boost level but could make up to 350+ at 0.9 bar (Maximum at which R32 turbos should be run, bearing in mind the exhaust impellors are ceramic). At around 300 bhp it's already plenty as is... There's also a separate digital boost display, but as the boost controller clearly shows boost level, we removed it and placed inside the glove box. It can easily be plugged back in to the box under the centre console if preferred. Timing belt was changed at 71,111km and the car has good oil pressure (Shows 4.5 Bar cold, 2.0 bar warm). Car drives well. Good (smooth) cold start and smooth idle with perfect fueling. Brake upgrades consist of matched cross drilled discs both at front rear with a Cusco BMC stopper. Suspension wheel improvements: The RAYS forged TE37SL's fitted are only around 2 years old and come with black Alumite RAYS locking wheel nuts on Bridgestone RE050 tyres (Locking key is with the car's tool kit. There are no scratches at all to the wheel rims, so they're close to new condition. Suspension has been replaced with road spec. shocks sports springs which will be good for use in the UK. No rattles at all with good body control, ride is a little firmer than standard but not jarring. Looking through the wheel spokes - it appears to be a suspension kit by Bridgestone, but it's difficult to tell what the brand name is in this case without getting the car in the air. A Cusco front tower bar is also fitted.
External Cosmetic Interior Upgrades: Note the genuine Nismo bumper ducts, bonnet lip, Side Skirts, Spats, Rubberised rear spats and rear spoiler lip in addition to a Fujimura Auto (FRP) front bumper lip. Original option N1 headlights (HID converted) are also fitted. It's rare to find a 32 with a complete set of original body option, which are very desirable nowadays, even as used items. Just the front bonnet lip was 450 GBP from Nissan when available (Now discontinued). The interior of this car was recently sent to Robson Leather for a retrim, as this is something we want to promote in future as a solution for UV faded seats, which are so common on Skyline GT-R's. The front seats are full leather, the rear (Which will be barely used) are high quality vinyl, but look identical to the front. Most people would be hard pressed to tell the difference. Door rear trim inserts were also replaced - and front carries a red "Robson Leather" logo, as do the seat head rests. Bear in mind these are new, so the leather still needs to settle. They're soft, supple and comfortable. We also replaced the handbrake shift gaiters with new leather items and fitted a brand new Nismo shift knob. The steering wheel is an Ital Volanti red stitching matches the brand new Nismo floor mat set which we also added. This car has a rare original option interior recirculating filter on the rear parcel shelf there's a switch on the centre console. This is by far the nicest interior of any 32 we've sold so far and something we hope this car's example will inspire others to do, although as it's an expensive conversion so we don't expect many will want to follow suit, unless we add the feature in cars we supply from stock... It will remain a rarity in the UK.
Further Improvements available: Although this car needs nothing added if wanted, there's still more things the new owner can do to personalise for his own GT-R perfection (We're here to help!). Note: Although it will run fine as is, as always we would recommend having a power FC fitted and mapped (We carry a stock of used ones precisely for this) whilst the car is at RK tuning, for enhanced running on UK fuels with improved power response. The main thing we'd recommend would be an equal length front pipe and a high-flow catalyst. We would also recommend a high quality set of pads from Project Mu or Endless as the current ones get used up, which will help improve stopping performance greatly. Standard equipment includes: ABS, Hicas 4 wheel steering, Atessa 4WD, Climate Control A/C, PAS, remote mirrors with retract mode, Central Locking, rear wiper, etc. This car has evidently been fastidiously maintained. The engine bay, interior, carpets, indicator stalk, pedal rubbers, oil pressure, etc.- all indicate low wear and no abuse. We found only minor cosmetic faults as follows: Body condition is pretty much perfect. No rust at all to the underside. Just some minor stone chips (touched in) to the front lip and underside of the Nismo side spats). It's rare that we come across a car that only requires a basic polish job to perfect, the previous owner evidently liked to keep his Skyline GT-R perfect. Even the front screen is devoid of stone chips and is coated with a rain repellant layer. With no scratches at all on the rims, a non-smoker's car since new and near perfect bodywork with no stone chips on the front glass, this Skyline GT-R shows all the signs of a car that's been owned by a mature driver. Unfortunately he was over-zealous with polishing the roof and there's a couple of marks, but we'll have these re-painted whilst the car is being prepared by RK tuning so the roof is perfect too. Also noted are: Rear screen seal is shrunken (They all shrink from age), there is minor warping to the vents on the dashboard and the panel on the passenger footwell covering the ECU is modified as it holds the boost control solenoid on it. Note also there is some warping to the original Nismo rear spoiler lip. This is not nearly as heavy as we have seen on other cars (frame is made of mild steel) so is indicative that this car has been garaged / under cover for much of it's life. Note there is some denting to the jacking points. This is a design fault on all Skyline GT-R's, where damage occurs is the original jack is used to lift the car. Only through using hydraulic lifts always can such damage be avoided.
Engine Test Drive: After careful warming and extensive checks we took this car out to test can confirm it drives very well! It's got good smooth power and all signs of a well maintained car. Excellent oil pressure (( nearly 6kg/cm2 cold 2.5 kg/m2 when warm) at idle shows this is an engine in good health. Engine is strong, idle is good, even from cold super smooth too. Clutch feels as if it's got plenty of life the gearbox is notably smooth and lacking in any of the often found signs of synchromesh wear found on these cars. We found no faults to report at all. Car pulls strongly from just under 3,000 rpm with power climbing all the way through the power range and is making approximately 300 -310 bhp. The tightness of it's feel, lack of stone chips and care / money lavished on it suggests this car was used as a weekend toy and has never been on a circuit.
Make no mistake - this is one of the best R32's we've had in recent years and that's not something we say lightly (If you look through our history you'll see we only select the best available examples for stock). Prices of top Skyline R32 GT-R's in Japan are continuously strenghtening so we're unlikely to find many more good examples in 2014. Supplies of good 32's at affordable prices are drying up fast now.
