Skyline R32 GT-R - Tuned by with Robson Interior Conversion - Stunning!
For about 5 years & front extensive experience sourcing these we've been predicting that 32 GT-R's were destined to become prized classics and now not before time - we're sadly seeing the best examples becoming more scarce, causing the market to pay increasingly higher prices in Japan, making it very difficult to buy replacement stock. It's a no-brainer that prices in other countries will rise sharply in the near future. The R32 GT-R is a playstation generation cult car and was built by Nissan to show off what it was capable of during the Japanese bubble economy and has become a legend, sold only in Japan with a sprinkling of examples in Australia officially. Many are now dead from neglect, abuse and poor quality modifications so there are few really nice examples left, even in Japan.
This is a rare example with a lot of higher tuning parts now rarely found on 32's, since such cars have in recent years been broken for parts than being sold on the market as complete cars. Finding such a complete example we've improved it further by having the interior renewed with Robson leather conversion & also enhanced it with rare BBS LM wheels shod with brand new sports tyres.Engine Performance modifications. Central 20 (http://www.central20.co.jp) has completed the tuning work on this Skyline 32, with the following combination of performance upgrades:Intake is taken care of by a very rare St May carbon fibre cold air kit. This uses 80mm HKS DD filters attached to Z32 air flow meters. As these required removal of the original screen washer tank, a replacement aluminium unit is fitted instead, next to the battery. Injectors are 660cc SARD items. Intercooler is by HKS with matching HKS hard pipes which give more reliability from coming off at higher boost compared to original rubber hoses. Turbos are Greddy ball bearing units of same size as originals (for response) & capable of up to 1.5 bar of boost. Exhaust gases exit through HKS stainless steel elbows and into a Nismo front pipe. Exhaust is a Kakimoto Regu 92:Z which has a straight through rear silencer, but an oval mid silencer, so it's sporty, yet quiet enough to pass most noise regulations as UK track events. There is a 1.2mm metal HKS head gasket, essential for reliability when running at higher boost levels and also there is an uprated in-tank fuel pump from SARD. Inside the engine bay there are also some Nismo cosmetic improvements in the form of a radiator cap, oil filler cap & brake fluid reservoir band. To keep the engine cool, there's an HKS oil cooler (Located in front of the radiator, under the cooling panel) with remote oil filter housing mounted neatly under the engine, making oil changes a simple affair. This combined with the thermostatically controlled remote oil filter mount allows oil to circulate when cold, but bypasses the oil cooler until oil is up to operating temperature. A Tomei oil pump produces pressure of 7 bar at idle on startup and 3 - 3.5 bar at idle when warm (unusually high oil pressure indicative of a very healthy engine). The clutch is a twin-plate Nismo item with plenty of life left yet. Timing belt was changed recently at 75,347km. Mapping has been well completed and the car runs perfectly with good cold starting, etc. Currently it's boosting to 1.05 bar and making around 420 bhp.
Wheels & Suspension: Wheels are genuine forged alloy BBS LM's shod with brand new sports tyres at each corner. Suspension consists of Bilstein B-Type struts and sports springs. These give improved ride & body control of similar level to Nismo S-Tune suspension. Having rubber insulators, they offer a quiet and compliant ride, ideal for fast road use. The front strut brace is a Nismo item with brake master cylinder brace incorporated in the strut mount. Brake pads are also uprated.
Cosmetic & Interior Upgrades: Note the genuine original option Nismo bumper ducts & bonnet lip. The interior has been treated to a brand new Robson leather interior. Front seats are leather. As rear seats are not likely to be used often these are vinyl but you'd be hard pushed to tell the difference in materials with the front seats - such is Robson Leather's quality of materials. Door inserts carry Robson Leather logos and the rear panel inserts are also re-trimmed. The steering wheel is also newly re-covered in leather with stitching to match the seats. As usual with all of the Skyline GT-R's we supply, this car has also been treated to a new set of Nismo floor mats. Sports aluminium pedal covers are by Razo and there's a Tomei shift knob also fitted. Audio consists of a Carrozzeria 200W CD/Radio with uprated speakers & remote tweeters in the doors and shelf mounted speaker pods at the rear. There's also an original Nissan option 320km/h speedometer & an Apexi turbo timer. Note this has also been a non-smoker's car since new.
Further Improvements available: Although this car needs nothing added if wanted, there's still more things the new owner can do to personalise for his own GT-R perfection (We're here to help!). We can supply original parts to further enhance this car such as Abflug front and rear carbon diffusers (With free shipping if ordered with this car), along with remaining Nismo replica body components consisting of side spats and rear spoiler lip - if desired these can be supplied in carbon, which goes very well with white cars (Example pics are available on request). As the car has components to be capable of producing over 500 bhp, we would recommend fitment of an Apexi Power FC & Commander to be mapped whilst the car is at RK tuning, which would make it safest for running a boost controller and optional setting of 1.4 bar. Given time, such as whilst the car's being shipped we would be able to locate a used Power FC & Commander inexpensively too. Standard equipment includes: ABS, Hicas 4 wheel steering, Atessa 4WD, Climate Control A/C, PAS, Central Locking, rear wiper, etc. This car has evidently been fastidiously maintained. The engine bay, interior, carpets, indicator stalk, pedal rubbers, etc.- all indicate low wear and no abuse.
We found only minor cosmetic faults as follows: There is a light pin dent on each door and also one on each front fender. Also there's some minor scratches and crazing to the o/s corner of the front bumper & spoiler and a small blemishes on each of the n/s & o/s rear quarter (Too small to see in pictures). Most people wouldn't be able to see these even looking closely, unless pointed out but to produce a perfect exterior the pin dents are to be repaired by a dent technician and front bumper & described blemishes are to be repainted as part of full preparation whilst the car is at RK tuning, in Essex UK. Note also there are some small touched in marks from stone chips and tiny scratches - paint match is perfect. The inside is perfect with new interior, although as usual on 32's there is a bubble on the dashboard. If desired, we can obtain a brand new dash from Nissan and fit at additional cost before shipment, but this is an expensive item to replace. Engine & Test Drive: After careful warming and extensive checks we took this car out to test & can confirm it drives very well. It's got good smooth power and all signs of a well maintained car. Engine has no signs of wear, it's super smooth too. Clutch (Nismo Coppermix twin plate) feels as if it's got plenty of life the gearbox is notably smooth and lacking in any of the often found signs of synchromesh wear found on these cars. Suspension is smooth and compliant and the brakes strong & drama free. We found no faults to report at all. Car pulls strongly from just under 3,000 rpm with power climbing strongly all the way through the power range and is making approximately 420 bhp. The tightness of it's feel, lack of stone chips and care / money lavished on it suggests this car was used as a weekend toy and has never been on a circuit.
Much money has been spent in producing & maintaining this perfect example over time, with improvements and tuning to the value of in excess of the price of the car. Supplies of good 32's at affordable prices are drying up fast now & prices of top Skyline R32 GT-R's in Japan are continuously strengthening. As such our prices will be forced to continue to rise in 2015, in line with having to pay increasingly more for top condition replacement stock. These cars are now firmly on collector's car category and will continue to appreciate.
