Celica GT-4 Facelift






Since supplying our last GT-4 from stock at the very beginning of this year, we’ve been looking for an excellent condition replacement! Usually we avoid pre-facelift GT-4’s, especially if of standard specification. Instead, we always look for something with extras, that enhances the car well. In particular we like the facelift models. Never sold in the UK, these carry improvements and look more modern, offering better value for money.
Toyota is not expected to make another Celica GT-4 ever again, certainly never a 4WD turbocharged model in this guise. Facelift GT-4's are extremely rare cars in Japan yet alone in the UK, especially a well cared for example. This Celica came up after 3 months of searching solidly for a top quality example.

Equipment includes: Twin Recaro Sports front seats with rear seats trimmed in matching Recaro cloth, central locking, electric mirrors with retract mode, climate control A/C, PAS, leather trimmed driver’s SRS airbag steering wheel, electric windows with blue-green tint, sports fitted mats, Alpine 200 W MDAW933J Head unit with CD/MD/Radio (Audio equipment is included free of charge with this car), Apexi Turbo Timer, Greddy Boost gauge, etc. Mechanically, this car is of standard specification throughout – making it ideal for someone who wants to have the performance these offer – yet keep insurance costs sensible. Original spec. includes oil cooler, usual 4WD system, 4 piston front brake calipers with 315mm vented discs, 2 piston rear calipers with 315mm discs, Water/Air induction cooler, etc.

Exterior Wheels: The rear spoiler from C-One Motorsport. Skirts are original polyeurethane optional items from Toyota. Wheels are 17" Schneider items, fitted with near new Dunlop Le Mans sports tyres of size: 215/45/ZR17. Note that a front lip has previously been fitted but was not supplied with the car. To set it off well, we’d recommend fitting another. We can supply various types from around £165.00 through – in fact we can supply any part available in Japan for these at discount!

Interior is in excellent standard condition, with no faults to report - aside from some bleaching of the black trim on the top of the rear seat (This can be retrimmed at cost of approx £200.00) Note this has been a non-smoker's car since new, so there are no cigarette burns, etc.

Test Drive: A GT-4 is very confidence inspiring to drive. The standard suspension is very progressive, handling very well, as you would expect of the 4 wheel drive rally breed car from Toyota. This car has clearly never been abused. The engine sound is smooth, and the standard speed limiter is still in place (this will be removed during UK preparation). Engine is in fine form and all signs show this car has been used softly for and regularly serviced too.. There is plenty of wear remaining on the clutch brake discs too - a sign of not having been used hard. This is an example which has been well looked after. Of course, as with all cars in Tokyo, this is completely rust free underneath, so it'll last for many years. The timing belt was changed at 87,086 km (54,124 miles) on 31st July 2003 and it’s also recently had an oil change. Nothing amis to report except: We did notice some rattling from the front suspension’s lower arms over very bumpy ground (A common fault on most GT-4’s). Depending on what option is chosen, we’ll either have these replaced as part of the price if full chosen, or if the customer prefers to do his own preparation, we can supply the parts at discounted price from Japan.

The car is of auction grade 4 (Auction sheet is available). Although in beautiful condition , there are some small faults on the bodywork as follows: The n/s headlight has a stone chip crack. A replacement will come with this car. There are light scratches to 2-3 of the wheel rims, although these are so small they’re hardly visible.The front bumper has some scratches to the n/s corner. There’s a light 2cm scratch on the n/s/f wing. The rear spoiler has some cracking in between the seams where it was moulded. These items will be repaired professionally as part of full preparation in the UK. In effect - this GT-4 will be absolutely immaculate to our usual high standards upon completion.
