This car has belonged to Charlotte, UK staff of Newera since its importation to the UK in early 2006. During its time in the UK, many significant upgrades have been made. These include Jamex 40mm lowering springs, improving both looks and handling whilst still giving a comfortable ride. Original wheels have been replaced with 15’ 7 Spoke alloy wheels, fitted with 195/55/R15 tyres, all in very good condition with plenty of tread on all tyres. Handling with these additions is impressive. Chassis flex is reduced by the factory front strut brace.
To improve update the exterior the front indicators are now completely clear, without the orange ‘glow’ from inside the clear lenses. Side repeaters have been replaced with clear items as have the rear lamps. The rear fog lamp, required to be fitted upon arrival to the UK, has been built into the rear lamps, avoiding any unsightly bolt on units. Together this gives a much updated look over original.
Performance is very strong with the 1.6 Vtec giving over 170BHP! Vtec cuts in at 5700RPM and can be detected by the race engine like noise and the increased pull all the way to the 8250RPM red line! Breathing has been improved with an Induction kit intake hard pipe, giving a much deeper intake note.
The Stereo has been uprated with an Alpine Radio Cassette headunit, complete with 6 disc CD changer, neatly built into one of the rear storage compartments. All 4 speakers are also uprated and powered by a 4 Channel Alpine Amplifier, neatly located in the boot. The steering wheel has been replaced with a leather/alloy item, matching the Type-R style alloy gear knob also fitted and complementing the alloy pedal extensions fitted also.
The electric roof has had a full service since arriving to the UK, complete with a full set of replacement gears (common Fault with these roofs). The cam belt was replaced at 49,000miles and the car has been serviced, Inc oil and filter has been replaced twice in the last 7,000miles, using fully synthetic Mobil 1. The Air Conditioning system has also been re-gassed. Underneath the car, there's no rust, even the original exhaust is virtually corrosion free! The spare's never been used and the tool kit is also intact. This car really is immaculate, given its age.
Further peace of mind is given in that a Thatcham cat 1 Sigma S30 alarm has also been installed, keeping insurers happy and providing remote central locking. Spare Key Fob are also provided.
Most outstanding is the condition of this car. That’s why we bought it for ourselves! Exterior is in excellent condition, with not a single pin dent to either side! There are no scratches or scrapes to report, only a mark on the boot lid, where the paint has worn thin as a result of some over ambitious polishing in the past! The car has been polished monthly, since in the UK. Interior is in similar condition with no faults to report. This car has no faults at all that we are aware of! Gearbox synchros etc all show little signs of wear.
