Nowadays finding a good R32 GT-R is becoming increasingly harder as time takes it's toll and so few owners give these cars the care they deserve. Destined to become one of Japan's most prized classic cars the good well looked after rust free examples are strenghtening in price as collectors continue to realise pristine examples are becoming a rare breed. This example has been beautifully preserved and is absolutely rust free throughout. This very good example will appeal to someone looking for the very best they can get to either keep as is, or to use a great base from which to improve further to own tastes.
Performance improvements: Power cosmetics have been improved for enhanced but sensible road use. Stage 1 tuning has been completed by Mine's with a ROM ECU upgrade Blitz ID Sequential Boost controller (With Digital display plotting) set at 0.9 bar. An Apexi Power Intake induction kit is fitted. Exhaust is an HKS Hiper Muffler in good condition. This has both a mid oval silencer and a straight type at the exit so it’s unrestrictive, sporty, but not too loud. Clutch is a single plate Nismo Coppermix. Feels much like standard but can take more power, around 450 bhp is it's capability. HICAS rear wheel steering has been removed on this car. A popular modification for those who prefer the direct feel of correcting a slide than letting electronics assist confuse natural responses. Also fitted are a Tomei Piston type oil filler cap HPI 1.3 Bar radiator cap. Brake rotors have been uprated to replacement slotted type and braided hoses are also fitted. An Apexi Rev Speed Meter is also included, which can be used for performance testing, etc.
Suspension improvements: HKS Hipermax II coilovers with spring rates of F7 R6kg/mm. Rear suspension upper arms are by Cusco with uprated bushes; these give better rear geometry control under hard acceleration. Front Tie rods are pillow type by Zanitani adjustable front upper arms are by M's factory. With this setup front rear, camber becomes adjustable for better setup ability. Also included are TEIN front tower bar and a rear strut brace. This combination makes for around 370 bhp (@ 0.9 bar) with improved handling. Suspension is firmer than standard, but well controlled – driving the car over a bumpy country road it felt comfortable but compliant.
Cosmetic improvements: Wheels are some of the most desirable of all for a GT-R; Nismo LM GT-4's in good condition, with near new sports tyres of size 255/40R17. Locking wheel nuts are also included. Note the genuine Nismo bumper ducts desirable N1 headlights. White type back-lighting has also been retro fitted to all the instruments. There are factory tinted rear windows too. New genuine leather gaiters for shift side brake are fitted a Tomei duracon shift knob is also included. Audio consists of a Kenwood CD/Radio of 200W power. Audio is un-tested and supplied free of charge with this car. We have also fitted a brand new full set of Nismo floor mats.
Further Improvements available: Although this car needs nothing added, if wanted, there's still more things the　new owner can do to personalise for his own GT-R perfection (We're here to help!). White R32's look particularly good with full Nismo body options, so we can supply a front spoiler lip, bootlid lip and side spats - colour coded and fitted, quite inexpensively. If intending to improve performance, we can supply all manner of tuning parts, from a simple Power FC ECU upgrade with injectors, etc. right through a range of turbos, brake improvement, etc. To further modernise the looks of this car, R35 GT-R rear badge,　Newera orange Crystal/clear/smoked front indicators and interior improvements such as replacement steering wheel boss, original Nissan pedal covers, etc. We can also supply wilder parts like Abflug front and rear carbon diffusers. Standard equipment includes: ABS, Atessa 4WD, Climate Control A/C, PAS, Central Locking, rear wiper, sports velour seats, etc. The carpet has been upgraded to later R33 / R34 type. This car has evidently been fastidiously maintained. The engine bay, interior, carpets, indicator stalk, pedal rubbers, oil pressure, etc.- all indicate low wear and no abuse.
Interior condition: From nearly 20 years of age the interior is in good condition, but not perfect. As with many 32’s, there’s a bubbled section on the dashboard. This can be repaired by a specialist in UK (Injecting Evo Stik glue, spreading with use of light pressure then heating with a hairdryer to soften the vinyl and promote glueing is the usual method of repair. It’s best left to an interior repair specialist – being inexpensive to do). There's a small burn mark on the driver's seat and 3 screw marks left by a previously fitted accessory - on the underpanel near the driver's pedals. These are small and not easily noticable.
Exterior: Bodywork is in outstanding condition showing signs of having been well cared for. In keeping with the low mileage and use in Tokyo area, it's rust free - with none of the rot often found on the rear arches or anywhere else on BNR32's, nor on the underside. We've taken several underside pictures to show condition in the usual spots where corrosion sets in. There's none at all on this example, as it's never seen salt. If you've looked carefully at GT-R's that have been in the UK for some years learnt where the pitfalls are, you'll know this is an important consideration (We only source corrosion free GT-R's). The jacking points are not collapsed as is usual on most GT-R's, although seams are bent slightly on either side. The chassis rail also has some denting from where the car's been lifted to avoid using the standard locations. There is no cause for concern with the underside condition at all.
We found only minor bodywork faults as follows: On the rear spoiler top section the paint has been polished very thin. On the rear (passenger side) quarter panel there's a light line dent. Both these faults will be repaired as part of full UK preparation whilst the car's at RK tuning. Note the front passenger wheel also has some scratches on the lip.
Engine Test Drive: After careful warming and extensive checks we took this car out to test can confirm it　drives very well! It's got strong power and all signs of a well maintained car. Excellent oil pressure (( nearly 6kg/cm2 cold 2.5 kg/m2 when warm) at idle shows this is an engine in good health. Engine has absolutely no signs of wear, it's super smooth too. Clutch feels as if it's got plenty of life the gearbox is notably smooth and lacking in any of the often found signs of synchromesh wear found on these cars. We found no faults to report at all. Car pulls strongly from just under 3,000 rpm with power climbing all the way through the power range and is making approximately 370 bhp. The tightness of it's feel and care / money lavished on it suggests this car was used as a weekend toy and has rarely been on a circuit.
Make no mistake - this is one of the best R32's we're likely to have this year. Prices of top examples in Japan have already strengthened, so we're unlikely to find many more good examples like this in 2012.
