For about 5 years front extensive experience sourcing these we've been predicting that 32 GT-R's were destined to become prized classics and now not before time - we're sadly seeing the best examples fetching increasingly higher prices in Japan, making it very difficult to buy replacement stock. It's a no-brainer that prices in other countries will rise sharply in the near future. The R32 GT-R is a playstation generation cult car and was built by Nissan to show off what it was capable of during the Japanese bubble economy and it's now become a legend, sold only in Japan with a sprinkling of examples in Australia officially. Many are now dead from neglect, abuse and poor quality modifications so there are few really nice examples left, even in Japan.
This example is to us the most original we've been able to source in years has been beautifully preserved and subtly improved. From the relative lack of ageing to seats, dash, plastics, paintwork, engine bay, underside, etc. it's clear to us this example's lived a very pampered life indeed. So much so we're tempted to keep this example and mothball it, as we know it'll be worth a lot more in years to come and we cannot realistically expect to find another this good...
Performance modifications: Power cosmetics have been improved for enhanced but sensible road use. Stage 1 tuning has been completed by fitment of an HKS SPF induction kit, HKS intercooler hard pipe kit. We felt the green filters didn't look as good as red, so replaced with new ones (See pictures).Exhaust consists of a Veilside stainless front pipe a Trust Power Extreme II muffler in good condition. This has both a mid silencer and a straight type at the exit so it’s unrestrictive, sporty, but not too loud. Also fitted is a Nismo fuel pressure regulator, Apexi AVC-R boost controller Mine's VX ROM ECU. The clutch is a Nismo item, with plenty of life left yet. Brakes are enhanced with cross drilled front discs sports pads with a Tomei BMC stopper.With a nice, tight gearbox strong oil pressures of 6 bar cold and 2.5 bar at idle we expect this engine has plenty of trouble-free life to give. Note: Although it will run fine as is, as always, we would recommend having a power FC fitted and mapped (We carry a stock of used ones precisely for this) whilst the car is at RK tuning, for enhanced running on UK fuels with improved power response.
Suspension wheel improvements: TEIN NR coilovers have replaced original dampers springs. These provide an improved sports ride for road use, without being uncomfortable. A TEIN strut bar has also been fitted at the front. This GT-R makes around 350 bhp (@ 0.85 bar of boost) with improved handling. Wheels are rare Volk Racing GT-P split rims Yokohama S-Drive sports tires of size 245/40R17. These tyres are all approx. 20% worn and offer good sports performance for the road. 17 Hex sports wheel nuts are also fitted, complete with locking wheel nuts (Key is with the original tool kit in the boot).
Cosmetic Interior Upgrades: Note the genuine Nismo bumper ducts, bonnet lip (Usually warped from corrosion of steel frame inside, but this one's still like new!). Inside, a Razo Carbon shift knob is fitted. As usual we have also fitted a brand new full set of Nismo floor mats. The rest remains original and in amazing condition.By now original steering wheels are usually damaged, whilst this one remains excellent. The shift handbrake boots are original and unworn, as is the switch gear, etc. Also note the lack of large bubbles on the dashboard, or fading to the seats. This is a 24 year old car! Note this has also been a non-smoker's car.
Further Improvements available: Although this car needs nothing added if wanted, there's still more things the new owner can do to personalise for his own GT-R perfection (We're here to help!). R32's look particularly good with full Nismo body options and as this example already comes with the front ones we can supply the rear spoiler lip side skirts too (Made from FRP, so the rear lip wouldn't corrode from the inside like the original). We can also supply wilder parts like Abflug front and rear carbon diffusers (WIth free shipping if supplied with this car). Standard equipment includes: ABS, Hicas 4 wheel steering, Atessa 4WD, Climate Control A/C, PAS, Central Locking, rear wiper, sports velour seats, etc. This car has evidently been fastidiously maintained. The engine bay, interior, carpets, indicator stalk, pedal rubbers, oil pressure, etc.- all indicate low wear and no abuse.
We found only minor cosmetic faults as follows: There is a touched-in scratch on the front bumper corner (n/s). On the o/s/f wing there's a very light (small) dent. Also on the rear quarter (n/s) there is a small touched in scratch. We'll be having the dent removed professionally and also have the front bumper repainted to make it perfect. The rear quarter's touched in scratch is not large enough to warrant painting and is best left as is, since the paint on the rest of the car is original. The wheels have a few small scratches and the lacquer has aged a bit but they still look very sharp as pictures show. If it were us, we'd have these refurbished with black centres (RK tuning has good inexpensive contacts for this sort of work in UK - worth bearing in mind for the future perhaps).
Engine Test Drive: After careful warming and extensive checks we took this car out to test can confirm it drives very well! It's got good smooth power and all signs of a well maintained car. Excellent oil pressure (( nearly 6kg/cm2 cold 2.5 kg/m2 when warm) at idle shows this is an engine in good health. Engine has absolutely no signs of wear, it's super smooth too. Clutch (Nismo) feels as if it's got plenty of life the gearbox is notably smooth and lacking in any of the often found signs of synchromesh wear found on these cars. We found no faults to report at all. Car pulls strongly from just under 3,000 rpm with power climbing all the way through the power range and is making approximately 320 bhp. The tightness of it's feel, lack of stone chips and care / money lavished on it suggests this car was used as a weekend toy and has never been on a circuit.
Make no mistake - this is the best R32's we've had in years and that's not something we say lightly (If you look through our history you'll see we only select the best available examples for stock). Prices of top Skyline R32 GT-R's in Japan are continuously strenghtening so we're unlikely to find many more good examples in 2014. Supplies of good 32's at affordable prices are drying up fast now.
