Nowadays finding a good R32 GT-R is becoming increasingly difficult as time takes it's toll and so few owners give these cars the care they deserve. Destined to become one of Japan's most prized classic cars the good well looked after rust free chassis examples continue to strenghten in price as collectors continue to realise truly well looked after examples are becoming a rare breed. This example has been beautifully preserved and improved. In addition to mild tuning for handling to preserve engine reliability tuning it's been treated to an expensive paintwork restoration which works beautifully in combination with a genuine Nismo original aero parts and 17" BBS LM 2 piece alloys. Examples as well cared for as this are very hard to find nowadays.
Performance improvements: Power cosmetics have been improved for enhanced but sensible road use. Stage 1 tuning has been completed by fitment of an KN (M's) induction kit. Exhaust is an Apexi GT muffler in good condition. This has both a mid oval silencer and a straight type at the exit so it’s unrestrictive, sporty, but not too loud. Also fitted is an HKS remote reservoir oil cooler (With facilities for fitting oil monitoring gauge senders). Just basic stage 1 tuning combined with strong oil pressures of 6 bar cold and 2.5 bar at idle means this engine has plenty of trouble-free life to give. Note the ECU remains original.
Suspension wheel improvements: Ohlins c-ring coilovers have replaced original dampers springs. These provide an improved sports ride for road use, without being uncomfortable. Being Ohlins, they should also be easily modified or serviced in Europe should the need arise. A Cusco aluminium strut bar has also been fitted at the front. This GT-R makes around 320 bhp (@ standard boost) with improved handling. Wheels are genuine BBS LM's with Goodyear Eagle Revspec RS-02's of size 255/40R17. These are all approx half worn and offer good sports performance for the road. 17 Hex sports wheel nuts are also fitted, complete with locking wheel nuts.
Cosmetic Interior Improvements: This car's had a good quality full body repaint, within the last few years. It seems fairly clear to us it was done to a very good standard subsequently very well maintained. It's unusual for front side screens to be removed for painting, for example - as replacement is expensive. So too - the side skirts were removed and properly re-fitted. Most of the time these get repainted on the car, to avoid un-necessary costs. We did note the rear glass was not removed as seals there are original ( shrunken from age as a result). At the time Ganador remote controlled door mirrors and original optiion side visors were also fitted. We also noticed the underside was given a coating of anti stone chip coating, although it's clear this car hasn't suffered at all from corrosion, as everywhere that's usually damaged from rust is still close to factory original. Note the genuine Nismo bumper ducts, bonnet lip (Usually warped from corrosion of steel frame inside, but this one's still like new) side skirts. Headlights have been converted to HID for main beam with super white headlight bulbs for high beam and LED bulbs for small lights. Inside, a Gull reclinable sports seat on genuine Recaro adjustable seat rail is fitted. A Tomei black duracon shift knob Momo F1 leather carbon finish steering wheel with HICAS Atessa boss are also included. Audio consists of a Kenwood MD/CD/Radio of 200W power with a subwoofer box in the boot, presumably with an external amplifier attached. This is is un-tested and supplied free of charge with this car. As usual we have also fitted a brand new full set of Nismo floor mats.
Further Improvements available: Although this car needs nothing added, if wanted, there's still more things the new owner can do to personalise for his own GT-R perfection (We're here to help!). R32's look particularly good with full Nismo body options and as this example already comes with most of them we can supply the rear spoiler lip too (In FRP, so it won't corrode from the inside like the original!). We can also supply wilder parts like Abflug front and rear carbon diffusers (WIth free shipping if supplied with this car). Standard equipment includes: ABS, Hicas 4 wheel steering, Atessa 4WD, Climate Control A/C, PAS, Central Locking, rear wiper, sports velour seats, etc. This car has evidently been fastidiously maintained. The engine bay, interior, carpets, indicator stalk, pedal rubbers, oil pressure, etc.- all indicate low wear and no abuse.
Interior condition: From nearly 20 years of age the interior is in good condition, but as can be expected it's not perfect. As with most 32’s, the seat (Passenger side) has faded from UV light. The Gull driver's seat is in good condition. If desired we can source fit another Recaro (Used) or even two, so they're matching - also an inexpensive possibility whilst the car's in Japan.We found only minor cosmetic faults as follows: On the passenger side spat, there's some stress cracks where it's been pushed against something in the past. This would be repainted if the car is prepared in UK by RK tuning. There's minor scratches to the underside of the front lip spoiler. Where the side windows have been removed and re-fitted for the body restoration, some of the rubber seal sits very slightly off the surface of the paint, just on the corners (Picture on slideshow shows the side glass). To most people this wouldn't be noticable, but we noted it when detailing the car. Much of the underside has been coated for aesthetics protection also. As is usual on Skylines one of the side step undersides is dented from use of the standard jack (original design fault), but this doesn't in any way affect the cosmetics of the car. Wheels have no corrosion, but having been fitted to the car since new, the laquer has aged in places and there are minor scratches to some edges. They're still well persentable as pictures show, but for wheels as desirable as this, they would deserve to be refurbished to make them perfect, perhaps over winter. Interior is in excellent condition. Dashboard has a bubble by the instrument housing. This is also normal for 32's of this age, but in this case when sitting in the car it's not really noticable.
Engine Test Drive: After careful warming and extensive checks we took this car out to test can confirm it drives very well! It's got good smooth power and all signs of a well maintained car. Excellent oil pressure (( nearly 6kg/cm2 cold 2.5 kg/m2 when warm) at idle shows this is an engine in good health. Engine has absolutely no signs of wear, it's super smooth too. Clutch feels as if it's got plenty of life the gearbox is notably smooth and lacking in any of the often found signs of synchromesh wear found on these cars. We found no faults to report at all. Car pulls strongly from just under 3,000 rpm with power climbing all the way through the power range and is making approximately 320 bhp. The tightness of it's feel and care / money lavished on it suggests this car was used as a weekend toy and has never been on a circuit.
Make no mistake - this is one of the best R32's we're likely to have this year (We only select the best for stock). Prices of top examples in Japan have already strengthened, so we're unlikely to find many more good examples like this in 2013.
