This particular example is extremely rare being one of only a handful available for the UK market. The changes result in a ride height that is 30mm lower and produces an improved resistance to torsional forces. These combined help to offer a refined yet sporty ride that allows you to play with sliding the rear end using throttle to control it, yet gives excellent all weather drivability all whilst offering class leading load capacity. How about a 0-60 in 5.0 seconds with ability to return 30 mpg when driven normally. Naturally along with powerful Brembos at each corner there's 4 channel ABS as standard too. Considering the capacity of swallowing an entire family of 5, ample luggage and the dog with ability to cruise at high speed to say a Ski resort, it only weighs 1,470kg unlaiden. The facelifted 2nd edition Sti Forester also includes the following improvements over it's older sibling: Larger rear glass, revised trim below rear window, white LED high level rear brake light (Illuminates red in use), updated rear lights with greater intensity, re-designed front wings, bonnet, front bumper, headlights, grille, revised badges, larger door mirrors with integrated side repeaters improved front seat adjustability. Essentially it's a more modern design, although under the skin it's exactly the same mechanical specification.
Test Drive: As with each car we source, this example was picked for it's high quality. From our first inspection we could tell that this car had maintained it beautifully. It's clear from the general condition, this example's not been driven hard and has always been well looked after. As such it drives without fault and the engine is purrrfectly quiet, no rattles or other signs of wear. We found absolutely no faults to report / needing repair. Note this car has been meticulously serviced maintaned since new. Timing belt is now due for changing, so we will be completing this work as part of our full UK preparation package.
Condition: Auction grade is 4.0. Paintwork is stunning and has virtually no stone chips at all to the front. This is a good indication of careful slow driving by the previous owner. From 15 years of daily experience checking cars - We can confirm both front doors have previously been painted. Note this car has not been in any accident, it was simply a cosmetic repair. Paint match is perfect. 99% of people would never know, but we mention it here to provide a complete report. There is a small pin dent on the o/s/r door and the rear bumper's left corner has been nudged in the past, causing a minor mark (See pictures). These faults are left as they are, but if preferred can be professionally repaired in the UK at small additional cost. Let us know if you'd like these taken care of when reserving. The interior is in excellent condition with no wear or marks to upholstery and it's clear the previous owner mostly drove alone and always kept it clean tidy. This has been a non-smoker's car since new. Note the complete lack of corrosion, or oil leaks on the underside. Engine bay is also in excellent condition, with no rust on bolts, etc. Even the fins on the intercooler show virtually no flattening, further indicating this car's not been driven hard (Subaru intercooler fins will flatten if the car's driven at high-speed in rain, for example)>This is a hand picked example of much better quality than you may find elsewhere is the only facelift example we currently have in stock (We also have a pre-facelifht 2004 currently in stock at a lower price). Since selling the last 2006 example, it took us 2 months to find this one so once this one is gone - we expect finding another replacement Forester Sti model of this quality to be challenging at the very least.
