Some may be wondering why we have suddenly got 4 beautiful Skyline R32’s…The truth is we've quietly been hoarding 32's at our base in Japan, under cover – and now are finally bringing the best hand-picked examples onto the market (There are a couple more coming soon…2 of them specifically for the US market being early models of very high spec. These will be available in the near future, unless sold prior / to order).
For about 5 years & front extensive experience sourcing these we've been predicting that 32 GT-R's were destined to become prized classics and now not before time - we're sadly seeing the best examples fetching increasingly higher prices in Japan, making it very difficult to buy replacement stock. It's a no-brainer that prices in other countries will rise sharply from here onward. The R32 GT-R is a playstation generation cult car and was built by Nissan to show off what it was capable of during the Japanese bubble economy and it's now become a legend, sold only in Japan with a sprinkling of examples in Australia officially. Many are now dead from neglect, abuse and poor quality modifications so there are few really nice examples left, surprisingly - even in Japan.
This example is the best examples in red metallic we've been able to source since the last one 2 years ago & has been beautifully preserved and subtly improved. The red paint of this model is not only rare, but changes in intensity / shade when exposed to sunlight and we have shown various pictures of the car both in sunny & overcast conditions to illustrate the visual differences. From the relative lack of ageing to seats, dash, plastics, paintwork, engine bay, underside, etc. it's clear to us this example's lived a very pampered life indeed. So much so we're tempted to keep this example and mothball it, as we know it'll be worth a lot more in years to come and cannot realistically expect to find another this good...
Performance modifications: Power & cosmetics have been improved for enhanced but sensible road use. Stage 1 tuning has been completed by Tokyo Power Base - Stream, with their ROM ECU & their work consisted of various modifications including: HKS Super Powerflow induction kit, Blitz dual blow off valves & a Blitz dual solenoid boost controller set at 0.9 Bar. Exhaust system consists of an Apexi front pipe, HKS high flow catalyst and HKS Hyper Muffler . This has both a mid silencer and a straight type at the exit so it’s unrestrictive, sporty, but not too loud. Brakes are enhanced with cross drilled front discs & sports pads. With a nice, tight gearbox & strong oil pressures of 5.5 bar cold and 2.5 bar at idle we expect this engine has plenty of trouble-free life to give. Note: Although it will run fine as is, as always, we would recommend having a power FC fitted and mapped (We carry a stock of used ones precisely for this) whilst the car is at RK tuning, for enhanced running on UK fuels with improved power & response.
Suspension & wheel improvements: Apexi N1 coilovers have replaced original dampers & springs. These provide an improved sports ride for road use, without being uncomfortable. A TEIN strut bar has also been fitted at the front with a cusco brace at the rear. Wheels are rare Volk Racing VR split rims with sports tires of size 245/40R17. These tyres are each approx. 30% worn and offer good sports performance for the road. The large centre lock nut on each wheel emulates Group A R32 GT-R's and are very rare nowadays. Also in amazing original condition with no corrosion to spokes.
Cosmetic & Interior Upgrades: Note the genuine Nismo bumper ducts, side skirts & spats. Inside, a Razo Alloy shift knob is fitted & the Speedo is a 320km/h item by Nismo. As usual we have also fitted a brand new full set of Nismo floor mats. The Hifi is a Kenwood CD of 180W rating and speakers are also uprated. The Blitz Dual SBC Controller unit sits on the steering column and there's an FET turbo timer located below the steering column (All extras in the interior are easily removed without leaving a mark if so desired). The rest of the interior remains standard and in amazing original condition.By now original steering wheels are usually damaged, whilst this one remains excellent, with just a few nicks to the leather from time. We'll re-finish it to return the surface to be all black, but preferred to show the wheel in pictures as it is now. The shift & handbrake boots are original and unworn, as is the switch gear, etc. Also note the lack of large bubbles on the dashboard, or fading to the seats. This car is over 22 years old! Note this has also been a non-smoker's car.
Further Improvements available: Although this car needs nothing added if wanted, there's still more things the new owner can do to personalise for his own GT-R perfection (We're here to help!). R32's look particularly good with full Nismo body options and as this example already comes with most, we can supply the rear spoiler lip & bonnet lip too (Made from FRP, so the rear lip wouldn't corrode from the inside like the original). We can also supply wilder parts like Abflug front and rear carbon diffusers (WIth free shipping if supplied with this car). Standard equipment includes: ABS, Hicas 4 wheel steering, Atessa 4WD, Climate Control A/C, PAS, Central Locking, rear wiper, sports velour seats, etc. This car has evidently been fastidiously maintained. The engine bay, interior, carpets, indicator stalk, pedal rubbers, oil pressure, etc.- all indicate low wear and no abuse.
We found only minor cosmetic faults as follows: There are pin dents on the o/s/f wing, driver's door and n/s quarter panel. We'll be having these dents removed professionally. The rear quarter's touched in scratch is not large enough to warrant painting and is best left as is, since the paint on the rest of the car is so deep. The wheels have a few small scratches to the edges, but only light and the lacquer has aged a little over the years a bit but they still look very sharp as pictures show. If it were us, being perfectionists, we'd have these refurbished (RK tuning has good & inexpensive contacts for this sort of work in UK - worth bearing in mind for the future perhaps). The front lip spoiler has some touch up marks to the bottom, which have been well applied. Note there are some very small stone chips from use over time, just the usual as it be expected of a car of this age. It's clear the previous owner took great care and pride in keeping his GT-R well.
Engine & Test Drive: Timing belt & pulleys are recorded as changed 78,557km (48,823km). After careful warming and extensive checks we took this car out to test & can confirm it drives very well! It's got good smooth power and all signs of a well maintained car. Excellent oil pressure (( 5.5kg/cm2 cold & 2.5 kg/m2 when warm) at idle shows this is an engine in good health. Engine has absolutely no signs of wear, it's super smooth too. Clutch feels as if it's got plenty of life the gearbox is notably smooth and lacking in any of the often found signs of synchromesh wear found on these cars. We found no faults to report at all. Car pulls strongly from just under 3,000 rpm with power climbing all the way through the power range and is making approximately 370 bhp. It feels strong and the tightness of it's feel, lack of stone chips and care / money lavished on it suggests this car was used as a weekend toy and has never been on a circuit.
Make no mistake - this is one of the nicest R32's we've had in years and that's not something we say lightly (If you look through our history you'll see we only select the best available examples for stock). Prices of top Skyline R32 GT-R's in Japan are continuously strenghtening so we're unlikely to find many more good examples in 2014. Supplies of good 32's at affordable prices are drying up fast now.
