A truly stunning SR20 DET 6 Speed Silvia S15 in Gunmetal Metallic, specially modified from an S15 Spec S, to the turbo spec you see below. The factory styling has been much improved with the addition of a full Vertex 'T E' FRP bodylit, including replacement front and rear bumpers along with side skirts. The Vertex kit will have cost over £2,500 in Japan. A costly but beautiful improvement to give that drift look! A factory option rear spoiler is also fitted. The wheels are unmarked 17" Forged Lightweight Work Emotion CR Alloys in Bronze, contrasting well with the Gunmetal body. Exterior styling is finished with factory option privacy rear windows.

The standard suspension has been replaced with top quality, fully adjustable, Tein HA coilover units, complete with camber adjustable pillow ball top mounts - some of the best units available from Japan, adjustable for both damping rate and ride height level. These are currently set as low as possible, although this is probably not advisable for UK roads. To make these units even more tolerable for UK roads Tein EDFC (Electronic Damping Force Controller) can be installed, giving in car adjustable damping. Available from www.neweraparts.com. The suspension will be raised prior to shipment to avoid damage to the Vertex bodyparts during transit.


Performance wise the 2.0 Turbo, SR20DET (250BHP in Standard Form) has been mildly improved with the addition of a Blitz Aluminium Front Mounted Intercooler, replacing the factory plastic, wing mounted unit. This reduces inlet charge temperatures, improving reliability by reducing the chances of detonation and giving more power, due to a denser charge. A Blitz induction kit is fitted to improve breathing, also giving a deep induction roar at full throttle. A cat back stainless steel large bore 'Mega' exhaust system has been fitted to further improve breathing and again provide a deep tone at full throttle, although not intrusive. The original catalyst has been retained. A Blitz MSTT Turbo Timer is fitted to allow the turbo to cool effectively after a spirited drive, preventing premature turbo wear. Aside from these and the suspension, the car is in standard condition throughout, having never been abused throughout it's life.

Spec includes: 6 Speed Manual Transmission, Dual SRS Airbags, Climate Control A/C, PAS, ABS, Electric windows (Auto up/down on drivers side), Electrically controlled door mirrors with retract mode, remote central locking. Original fitted mats. HID headlamps, rear wiper. A Clarion/Pioneer Hi-Fi Navi system is included free of charge with this car. Please note that the Navigation will not operate in the UK without specialist modification. A Hornet Alarm is also currently installed and included free of charge.


The S15 is a substantially improved car than the S14a in many ways, as follows:


1) Steering system stiffness has been increased to provide improved steering feel.
2) The front strut suspension and rear multi-link suspension has been carried over to the S15 Silvia.
3)Strengthening the upper member of the hood structure and adding reinforcements to rear pillars has increased body stiffness.
4)The Silvia spec-R series is fitted with ventilated front disc brakes with opposed 4-piston calipers, highly responsive ABS and a larger brake booster.
5)The driving position has been ergonomically designed to allow quicker execution of driving controls and to provide a seating posture for minimal fatigue during driving.
6)The instrumentation is laid out with a large size tachometer positioned in the center of the cluster.
7)The Spec-R also comes with titanium-look instrument finishers and a 52mm boost pressure gauge is attached to the driver's side front pillar.


The auction grade is 1 due to modifications. A copy of the auction sheet is available. Most Silvias have been crash repaired - not this one! This example has clearly been carefully cherished. It's in outstanding condition. Underneath, it's also like new. The only minor faults to report are two small pin dents to the n/s/r and a single pin dent to the drivers door. These will be repaired as part of the UK preparation and are described only for the purpose of providing an accurate report. 4 Tyres are required, and will be replaced upto a value of £350. If specific tyres are desired, these can be fitted at additional cost over this sum. Signs clearly show of this Silvia having been regularly serviced and well maintained. It would appear this car spent most of it's driven gently, cruising at legal speeds in Japan, still at present retaining the standard speed limiter (removed as part of UK preperation).


We test drove this Silvia for some considerable distance it's clear to us this car was well looked after by the previous owner - judging by the tight feeling of the driving experience it gave. Feels tight, with no squeaks or rattles and handles much like our own S15, with a very direct and responsive feel to the steering, pedals, gearshift and chassis.
The suspension is an incredible improvement over standard with the cornering 'wallow' dialed out. Handling on an S15 as standard is biased toward oversteer and sometimes difficult to catch, if unexpected. This example is tight and precise, very entertaining to drive!




In keeping with this car's condition, the interior has no faults at all to report, with no wear to seats, switches or carpets mats. Only one small pin dent to the rear quarter on the n/s and another to the driver's door. These will be repaired as part of UK preparation. Note there is no rippling to panels (No previous repairs), no stone chips from hard driving and no kerbing to wheels, etc. Just a truly immaculate Silvia Spec R in drift style!!
