DESCRIPTION
This GT-R has been improved with stage 2 engine tuning to give it approximately 450 - 550 bhp, depending on boost. It also has NOS for added power!! Every aspect has received upgrades, from the full Veilside C1 bodykit Work Emotion 18" wheels, through to TEIN EDFC controlled coilovers, F50 Brembo brakes, right down to interior with Recaro seats and much more! This a low genuine mileage example with excellent spec. A beautiful and unique GT-R with years of life in it!!
Aesthetic improvements: The bodykit consists of a genuine Veilside C1 front bumper, side skirts and rear bumper with a Python rear spoiler and a Stout carbon bonnet. The remote controlled aero mirrors are by East Bear. Wheels are Work Emotion CR Kai's with Work annodised alloy wheel nuts. Tyres are Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R's - a model that's recently been released and considered the very best sports tyres currently available in Japan! Size of tyres is: 255/35-R18. Note that a top quality Bellof HID kit is fitted, as well as a set of driving lights. To further modernise the looks of this car D Speed clear/smoked front indicators and Zacetec LED tail lights are available at low prices. See www.neweraparts.com for details!
Performance Improvements: A very large list of HKS tuning parts have been fitted, which in combination provide a tractable and responsive setup that can be used from slow town driving, to very fast Touge / track attack! A comprehensive TO4R turbo kit from HKS has been fitted. This comes complete with a stainless steel inlet manifold, AFM-less Super Power Flow filters, remote wastegate and a large bore downpipe, together with braided oil lines. The Intercooler is a GT type unit, designed for high power air flow. Located just behind the driver's side bumper corner are a pair of HKS SQV blow off valves. Injectors are 550cc HKS items, with a Nismo Fuel pressure regulator. The fuel pump is very likely to have been upgraded as is usual with this sort of combination, of course. Note the radiator's also upgraded to a high capacity item. The ECU being employed is a 32 BIT HKS F Con V Pro unit, combined with an HKS EVC 5 Boost controller (Low setting is 0.9 bar, we haven't driven it on high setting!). For cosmetics, the engine covers have been refinished in Blue carbon finish combined with a blue annodised camshaft position sensor cover and the injector harness cover's been replaced with a gold annodised item. There's some earthing cables too.We also noted that the inlet manifold and throttle body gaskets have also been replaced, as have the fan belts. The idle seems indicative of uprated camshafts too, which is further evidenced by the way the engine sings at higher rpms! Without a doubt the timing belt would also have been replaced when the engine tuning was being carried out. Note there's also an HKS high flow catalyst and the exhaust is an HKS silent power unit. There's also a 10 lb bottle in the boot by Nitrous Express! This comes complete with remote controlled closure valve. Once activated, there's a micro switch on the throttle linkage which is set to turn the NOS on at full throttle openings. Power is transmitted via an HKS 2 plate GD pro clutch. All components have clearly not had much use! The manifold has no corrosion on it, nor the exhaust, the clutch feels like new too - very progressive for use in town. We suspect there's a Nismo clutch slave cylinder fitted, as it's so smooth to use. Only the characteristic rattling of a twin plate clutch gives away the fact there's an uprated unit there. Combined with excellent mapping, this is a car that we've found docile to use in traffic, as well as for serious acceleration and speed on the open road! Oil pressure's good and the engine, gearbox, etc. are all in excellent health. For added reliability when using this engine hard, we would also recommend a Greddy Oil Cooler kit - also available at discount. (For further information click on www.neweraparts.com). Please note that although the car is mapped for Japanese fuel, it may need adjustment for UK European fuels. Costs of mapping would not be included in the evelopments is able to carry out professional mapping to work with UK fuels on the customer's behalf, in addition to any other desired tuning work at only £45.00 + VAT per hour. The engine bay would benefit from some tidying of the earthing kit, as well as making some of the silicone piping more discreet. This would be a simple and pleasurable job for a DIY owner. We'd recommend changing the strut brace for something thicker (Top Secret, or Auto Select) and fitting an oil catch tank, along with an oil filter relocation kit / Greddy oil filter. There's still lots that can be done in the search for personal GT-R perfection!
Suspension modifications include TEIN coilovers with pillow ball upper mounts, controlled remotely by a TEIN EDFC system, with the controller located in a neatly installed housing in the glovebox. The rear subframes mounts have been uprated using alloy collars. These provide better stability under power. HICAS is still fitted to this example. Cusco uprated anti-roll bars are also fitted front rear. KTS front strut brace and rear member braces are fitted.
Brakes: Brembo F50 4 piston front callipers with vented 355mm rotors mounted on annodised gold alloy bells provide massive stopping power. Pads are uprated to sports compound at each corner. Brake hoses are braided Project Mu items. This is one of the best brake kits available for the GT-R. A massively strong performance upgrade, to cope with the extra power potential available.
Standard equipment includes: ABS, Hicas 4 wheel steering, Atessa 4WD, Climate Control A/C, PAS, Central Locking, remote controlled door mirrors (Note retract mode is not operational as these are after market items), rear wiper, unmarked velour seats, factory tinted privacy rear glass, etc. This car has evidently been fastidiously maintained. The engine bay, interior, carpets, indicator stalk, light switch, pedal rubbers, oil pressure etc. - all indicate low wear!
Interior: As you open the door, you're greeted by a cockpit that means business! Twin Recaro reclining bucket seats on adjustable seat rails have replaced the originals. A Momo sports steering wheel with flat bottom is colour coded. The passenger glovebox opens to reveal a duo of 60mm Defi BF gauges and Link II controller showing Exhaust Temp (Red backlighting) and boost (White backlighting), combined with a Greddy turbo timer, and a D Con adjustable shift light indicator (Shift light unit is located on the top of the steering column). The EDFC controller for adjusting the suspension on the move is also fitted neatly in the glovebox instal. Close it and the gold box for the HKS F Con V Pro unit is discreetly, but proudly displayed. On the driver's A pilar you'll find a 52mm Greddy pod housing a Nitrous Express pressure gauge. Currently the bottle's completely empty, but you can hear the whirring of the open / close remove valve when using the switchgear on the centrally located control panel. Under the steering column there's an HKS Fan controller. Also fitted is an electronic toll collection unit. This is useless outside of Japan and should be removed. Also fitted are alloy pedal covers and a smart alloy gear knob. ICE includes a Pioneer 45W x 4 MOS FET MD/Radio. Speakers are also likely to have been uprated. Note: Audio equipment is included free of charge with this car. Bulbs for the instrument backlighting have been changed for blue hue items. The original speedometer is documented as having been changed at 60,701km in August 2006 to a 340km/h Veilside unit. Actual total genuine mileage of this car is therefore 62,988km (39,147 miles) from new. The existing speedo can be calibrated to show this as the total, whilst the car's being prepared by ourselves. Note, that the replacement Speedo was fitted in August 2006, presumably around the time many of the other relatively new performance modifications carried out. This is of benefit - as the car has been near standard until only recently, meaning it's not had lots of hard use over a long period! Also note that in the picture show there's a copy of the Shaken (Bi Annual vehicle inspection) document. This further confirms the mileage, where on 18th Feb 2004 the original odometer was recorded at 40,100km and on 3rd March 2006 it showed 59,900km. It's very rare to find a GT-R of this age with such low genuine mileage. Clearly the last owner wanted to start with an excellent example, when doing all this tuning work!Interior Condition: The interior is in excellent condition. This has been a non smoker's car. There are no faults to report except some wear to the right shoulder cushion on the driver's side. A specialist upholsterer would be able to put this right. Note the light switch, mats, gear lever and handbrake gaiters, door trims, roof lining, etc. are all clean and unworn, in keeping with the low mileage this car's covered.
Auction Grade is 1. This is the grade given for a car which has had extensive modifications The bodywork is in excellent condition. Note this car's not shown as having been involved in any prior accidents. In keeping with the low mileage, it's rust free - with none of the rot often found on the rear arches of BNR32's. The sill's jacking points are also not damaged, which is very unusual for an example of this age. As usual with FRP bodykits, paint there could use renewing: The front bumper has been nudged against obstacles in the past and the splitter's been poorly repaired (DIY). The skirts also have some chips on too and it's notable that some chips are also on the quarter panel lower sections. The rear bumper is also in the need of some paint and the rear spoiler has some cracking / stone chipping. The grille also has some minor laquer peeling and the door mirrors could also use a repaint. On the boot lid, the lock has a missing cover. These minor faults would be repainted as part of the full OTR price, to provide a mint condition car! Alternatively, to enable a customer with a lower budget to purchase, we can do say only the front bumper, or another combination. Engine Test Drive: We've driven this car all the way from Yokohama to Chiba, where pictures were taken. It starts well, with a characteristically lumpy idle at first, which gets better as the engine warms up. It drives very, very well! It's got strong power and all signs of a well maintained car. Being uprated, the brakes are also much stronger than standard - affording the sort of stopping power needed for a car of this level of performance. Excellent oil pressure (5kg/cm2 at idle when cold and 2.5kg/m2 when at normal operating temperature) at idle shows this is a strong engine in good health. Clutch feels as if it's brand new. We test drove this example for around 90 minutes and found it felt tight and very together. It pulls strongly from around 4,000 rpm with power climbing all the way through the power range and is making approximately 480 bhp with boost at 0.9 Bar. More power will be available at higher boost / settings - but these should be checked in the UK using det cans, etc. to make sure the engine will always be run safely. Total cost of modifications paintwork to this car cost the last owner approx. £25,000 during the last 2-3 years. With many new modifications having been added recently, it's not been used hard at all. All signs show this car has been well loved and modifications selected to enhance the performance whilst remaining usable for daily driving, rather than chasing maximum power. Expect this to be a very quick and fun car to drive with perfect poise and instant response!OTR Price: £12,175. Includes all costs such as full UK conversions, 12 month's comprehensive warranty, valeting, cost of road tax and new MOT. Alternatively, if you'd prefer the car without paintwork, we can supply with bodywork as is, for £11,625.
