The Nissan Stagea RS Four was produced from the end of 1996, to compete with the Subaru Legacy GT-B and Mitsubishi VR-4, in offering a performance 4WD family estate car, with style, performance and comfort combined. The RS Four was equipped with the same 4WD system as the 2.5 Skyline models, but unlike the Skyline 4WD models (Except the GT-R of course), it was also fitted with the 2WD GTSt's 2.5 litre turbo 24 valve 6 cylinder RB25 engine.
As there is no model report for these, we've had to wait till now to be able to offer them and we wanted the first to be something special, rather than a completely standard example. We're pleased to have been able to find an example that is not only fitted with every possible original factory option, including black leather, but also with an uprated full bodykit, 18" wheels and a Momo stainless exhaust system, with a recent high quality colour change to provide an excellent package!
Original equipment includes: RB25 24 valve turbo engine (245 bhp - but easily tunable to near 400 bhp if desired) permanent 4WD, Automatic transmission with overdrive and power (hold) modes, Full leather interior with electric adjustment on the front seats, twin electric glass sunroofs, original fitted mats, power steering, power windows, central locking, ABS, climate control air conditioning, tinted windows with privacy glass for the rear, central locking, electric mirrors with retract mode. Note also that roof rails are fitted, to allow easy use of a roof rack, etc. Most of these items, especially the leather interior are very rare!There's an Addzest TV/Navigation system that also offers CD/MD and radio, although the TV and Navi won't work in the UK, unfortunately. We'd recommend removal and replacement with a UK hifi of decent quality, which starts from around £100.00 We can also supply a cubby blanking box, if wanted - so a 1 DIN unit can be fitted.
After Market items: There's a complete bodykit fitted, which comprises of a front R34 GT-R lookalike bumper, side skirts, rear bumper and rear spoiler. The car used to be dark red andhas received a full colour change of good quality, which included spraying inside the door shuts, removal of the windscreen, etc. These, combined with 18" Hyper Black wheels designed by Weds, give the car an agressive, classy look, far better than original. Also fitted is a Momo Corse full stainless cat back exhaust, to provide a deep but muted sound. Note also that uprated progressive suspension springs are fitted.
Condition: There are virtually no faults at all to report - this car's had a full respray recently, so is almost immaculate in every aspect of bodywork. There's some stone chips to the front bumper and it's evident from some angles that the front wings have been resprayed again after the colour change. On the passenger front door there's a 3-4cm scratch that's been touched in. Also on the rear bumper there's a small touch up mark. Most of these are too minor to repair, although we've already resprayed the front bumper as part of the full UK or is in excellent condition with no significant wear to the leather, even on the driver's seat. There's no wear also to the steering wheel, or leather covered gear selector. There's no smell of cigarettes and the interior is clean with an unused ashtray and cigar lighter - so this has been a non smoker's car. The only faults we could find are the following: There's a crack on the sill trim for the driver's door - which has been gluded back into place with hot glue. This can be replaced with new, inexpensively - if preferred. The rear luggage tonneau cover is missing, although as there's privacy glass in the rear passers by cannot easily see inside.
Test Drive: Car drives well, with nothing amis to report. The engine pulls well and the Momo Corse exhaust gives a deeper sound. If preferred, we can supply the car with a standard exhaust instead. Brakes. steering, etc. all work properly. Car has been well maintained with regular servicing, etc. We note there's no records of a timing belt change due around this mileage, so to be safe, we'll fit a new one as part of the full UK OTR package, if chosen.
More performance upgrades: Note we are suppliers of all performance parts available from Japan. If you'd like to uprate performance further, we recommend fitting an induction kit, uprated ECU, 555cc injectors, boost controller and uprated fuel pump, which combined with a mild boost hike will see this car produce around 360 bhp. Front mount intercooler kits are also available. Finally, if desired, we can also supply an original RS Four rear badge, from Nissan.
