MR2 GT-S Turbo T-Bar Revision 4!!!

The MR2 turbo was made from 1989 onwards for the Japanese market only, whilst the rest of the world had to make do with normally aspirated versions only!
In 1994 Toyota introduced the Revision 3 turbo model in Japan. Fitted with a more version of their 3S GT-E turbo engine giving 245 bhp as standard, other revisions also brought uprated suspension for greater grip and safety at high speeds, uprated interior trim, as well as newer larger sized wheels, plus of course new fresh colours. With these changes the MR2 became a better car - which is still in strong demand by enthusiasts both in Japan and UK, etc. The Revision 4 model was introduced at the very end of 1996. In addition to the Revision 3 modifications, it received ABS as standard, Dual SRS Airbags, clear front indicators and side repeaters fitted on the side of each front wing. Glass was also changed to a more modern green tinted type (Previous models had glass in brown-grey colour). More new colours were introduced too.
With this example, what you see is a very rare combination, especially because of the Blue-Purple Metallic exterior very rare T-bar! - To find a Revision 4 with this spec. is usually next to impossible.
Standard specification includes: Climate Control A/C, PAS, P/W, Light green tint on the windows, remote controlled door mirrors, original floor mats. Fitted is a high powered (47W x 4) Addzest hifi with CD/Radio. The T-Bar roof also includes interior covers and original bags, so the glass can safely be stored behind the seats. The spare and original tool kit are complete and unused.
Mild Modifications: This MR2 has received some mild performance upgrades: The ECU remains standard, although a Trust Profec B II boost controller has been fitted - and this is currently set to 1 Bar. In the engine bay, there's some heat shielding that's been added to the inlet piping to help keep inlet temperatures down. There's a Trust Airinx induction kit fitted, complete with cold air ducting fed from the n/s side vent and alloy shrouds in the engine bay to keep heat away. An alloy oil catch tank is fitted to trap any oil from the crank-case and so maintain maximum spark-plug / combustion efficiency. A set of uprated ignition leads are also fitted. A TRD high pressure radiator cap (1.3 Bar) is also fitted. The exhaust is a high flow single exit system complete with removable baffle. Note that an HPI engine brace is also fitted. This stops the engine from rocking when power is applied, thus stabilising the drivetrain and keeping the gear change mechanism from twisting under power. With the exhaust, intake and boost controller modifications, this MR2 is making around 300 bhp. Please note - if desired, we are able to supply a new or used Power FC ECU specific to this MR2 model. Handling, Braking Wheels: Suspension on this example consists of standard shock absorbers with uprated 25mm lowered springs. Cusco alloy strut braces are fitted to both front and rear. At the front, Cusco tension rods have replaced originals and come complete with alloy pillow-ball bushes. Uprated track rod ends are also fitted. These combined - greatly help improve steering feel and confidence in the front end of the car. Please note that these are not noisy in use, as they're not parts that move at high frequency such as suspension arms. Brake pads have been uprated at each corner with Endless CC-R Carbon Ceramic items. These are the best pads on the market in Japan and supply high performance stopping power with fade free silent performance. Wheels are AVS Model 6 forged 16" items fitted with good condition Bridgestone Potenza RE-01 sports tyres of size 205/45/ZR16 front 225/45/ZR16 rear.
Cosmetic enhancements: Various stickers have been applied, including one on each door from Phoenix Power SPL, Japan's premier MR2 tuner. On the front at each corner is a carbon cannard. During preparation in the UK, these can be completely removed - or only some of the items removed leaving no trace at all - depending on the new owner's desires.
Interior: This has been a non smoker's car since new. The leather gear lever gaiter has worn through on one side, so we will be fitting a brand new one from Toyota as part of our preparation in UK. Note that on the dashboard are some mounts for 2 electronic gauges. These are only stuck on with double sided tape and can easily be removed in minutes. We have left them fitted for now, as they may be useful for the new owner.
The auction grade is 4 (Auction sheet is shown in pictures). This MR2's clearly been carefully cherished. It's in excellent condition. Looking carefully around the car we noticed the following faults: Front lip spoiler is scratched. The n/s corner of the front bumper is also scratched and the laquer on the top section is slightly discoloured. The entire front bumper will be repainted completely. On the driver's door there is a small pin dent. This will be removed by a specialist. Underneath, the car is also like new. Please note: On the passenger side, the T-Bar's rubber seals have solicone sealant. Although they seal well, this is unsightly, so we are replacing these with new items from Toyota as part of our work in preparing this MR2.
Please note there is a mild (repaired) dent on the underside of the exhaust pipe and also a light wiper scratch on the windscreen. These cannot be repaired, but are minor and hardly noticable.
Signs show of this MR2 having been regularly serviced. Oil is relatively new - clearly this car wasn't driven hard - judging by the fact the brake discs still look hardly worn. It would appear this car spent most of it's driven life on Motorways cruising at legal speeds in Japan. we test drove this car and found it drives very well, giving good strong power throughout the rev range. Driving out of our yard, which is quite bumpy, we noted that there were no rattles and squeaks to be heard. When driving on the open road, the car felt tight and unused. Brakes pulled the car up well with no signs of warpage, as is often common on older cars. Clutch has plenty of bite remaining. Felt very smooth.
Spec. like this is very sought after, so an example such as this is not expected to depreciate significantly. Rev 4 MR2 T-Bars are what MR2 enthusiasts would most like. This is the very first example we are importing since 2004!!
