DESCRIPTION

This is one of the sweetest and best condition RX-7's we have sourced for stock in the last 12 months!
Being a Revision 4 model with genuine mileage this low and condition to back it up, this FD is unmarked both inside and out.The engine is a genuine low mileage unit that has clearly not been tuned or pushed hard during it’s life. Oil has been recently changed and the car shows all signs of having been regularly serviced (Spark plugs are also nearly new). On older RX-7's the air pumps usually fail, especially on higher mileage examples - this one is still working just as it should be and has virtually no corrosion on it. Another good sign of a genuine low mileage example. We test drove this RX-7 thoroughly for handling, acceleration and braking, and found it drove absolutely as if new! Engine and a complete mechanical integrity check was carried out. There are no faults at all to report and the car feels tight and rattle free. With a car of such low weight, standard power is plenty with 0-60 in 5 seconds and a top speed of 160 mph. Handling is also amongst the very best available combined with double wishbone alloy suspension as standard.This RX-7 twin turbo pulls very strongly - with good idle, no noticable flat spots, good strong brakes, good clutch, etc. It drives much like a new car and performance is excellent, once again reminding us of how good these cars are, even as standard. No smoke on start up and it idles well, giving an excellent spread of power throughout the rev range, with strong power from around 2,500 rpm all the way to the red line. Perfect. Also noticed the suspension is firm and new in feel. No rattles at all, when travelling over bumps. Feels very tight. The interior is also in completely original condition. With no wear to the seats, aside from very minor creasing to the vertical outer bolster, no wear to steering wheel, pedals or gear knob, these further confirm this car's genuine mileage. When sitting in the driver's seat, it's firm - feeling like new. It's noticable the paintwork on this car's all original - as the car came from the factory.
Performance Upgrades: Lightweight 17'' Volk Racing GT-C Face II forged alloy wheels with Dunlop Formula FM901 sports tyres on the front of size: 235/40/ZR17 rear: 245/40/ZR17. Exhaust from the catalyst back - is a stainless steel 5 Ziglen "Miracle Fireball" . Induction kit is standard as supplied from the factory. The standard unit incorporates a cold air feed. Inside, there's a leather bound Steering wheel. The front strut brace is from Mazdaspeed. Suspension on this example consists of fully adjustable Mazdaspeed units. Height can be adjusted and damping is tunable also. Currently it's set to a firm but comfortable street ride. Cosmetically, this car has had a Live Sports front lip painted and fitted, to replace the standard original.Note that a Starbo remote controlled engine starter system is fitted. The batteries appear to be in need of replacement on the remote control (NO LED light). As with all electronic extras on our cars, this item is supplied free of charge with the car. FD3S - 40XXXX models onwards models have a 16 bit ECU which reacts faster to provide better engine and turbo management and slightly more power (265 bhp as std. spec on R Bathurst models). Also there are uprated tail lenzes and rear spoiler in addition to some engine ancilliary and boost control solenoid upgrades as std. This is a lightweight model built just before airbags were introduced as std. in Japan.
Original equipment includes: PAS, P/W, AC, ABS, Sports alcantara seats, fitted mats, original tool kit (No items are missing, optional tools are not fitted, however). R Bathurst models are also equipped as standard with 4 piston front brakes twin oil coolers. This example comes with optional stainless steel sill plates too. Hifi is standard, inclusive of an electric aerial at the rear.
Oil pressure is high, regularly serviced and well maintained, - this car runs very sweetly - just an an RX-7 is meant to. We first spent a good hour warning it up whilst we washed the bodywork to check carefully for any faults, then test drove this car and found it to be like new. Oil has recently been changed. With no squeaks or rattles at all when passing over bumps, an engine that pulls strongly all the way from idle, brakes that have virtually no wear and paintwork gleaming as if this were a brand new RX-7 - The last owner clearly cared to the point of obsession about his car. It's as tight as can be, smells much like new inside. With no stone chips and paint in as new condition throughout the car, it's evident this car was always garaged, cared for and never driven hard. Total cost of wheels,exhaust and other mild modifications are around £2,500 worth in Japan - Showing once again this is a well looked after cared for example.
Note that upgrade parts at discounted prices are available for this car through our parts department! Although nothing is required to improve it - we can supply Euro style clear front indicators for the front and 1996+ rear clusters to modernise the rear - inexpensively. This has been a non smoker's car since new. No ashtray is fitted. Instead there's a small cubby box complete with a soft elbow rest, complete with a small plastic cap to go where the cigar lighter would fit.The car is of auction grade 4.0. Condition is outstanding. The following items have already been repaired to perfect condition. There were some minor minor stone chips to the front lip spoiler and one small stone chip to the n/s/r quarter. The front bumper had some tiny paint cracks on the bottom of the n/s corner. On the underside of the front lip spoiler, the rubber strip needed re-afixing. - All have been repaired perfectly. We also found the clutch slipped in 5th gear under full boost, so we have replaced this with a brand new set, inclusive of pressure plate, thrust bearing and oil seal. Car is now perfectly prepared ready to go.
RX-7's in as original condition as this combined at an affordable price are extremely hard to find, even in Japan. The engine is in fine health with high oil pressure, healthy turbos and perfect starting every time. It's producing an excellent spread of power - perfectly healthy and with plenty of life to give with mileage this low, before an engine refresh at around 75,000 miles (50,000 miles to go!) For complete peace of mind, a comprehensive 12 month warranty (same cover as with a new car, essentially) will be supplied with this car also covering rotor tips and water seals.
