As usual, the Japanese kept the best for themselves, with the UK, Europe, USA etc only getting much lesser equipped models.The Sti II Type M is an extensively equipped robust spaceous family car offering legendary Subaru STI performance 4WD all-weather capability. This particular example is extremely rare being one of only 800 made and is also equipped with a rare 5 speed manual gearbox and impressive STi specification. The car is of standard mechanical specification aside from a Kakimoto Regu 06R stainless cat back exhaust (Also included is the factory fitted STI cat back sports exhaust - boxed). There is a Greddy turbo timer fitted and a boost gauge (Blitz) mounted on the dash too. It's clear from the general condition, this example's never been driven hard and has always been well looked after. As such it drives without fault and the engine is purrrfectly quiet, no rattles or other signs of wear. The Kakimoto Regu 06R exhaust gives the car a more sporty sound without being anti-social. Sounds very nice in fact!Condition: Auction grade is 4.0. Note the timing belt was changed at 95,358km (59,265 miles) - one year ago. Car has been meticulously serviced and looked after since new.Rear bumper corner had some minor scratches so these have been painted professionally by our workshop. There are a couple of minor pin dents on the o/s/r door and some minor stone chips on the bonnet only. Paintwork is stunning, as photos show. Note there is a missing emblem on the passenger front door - so we have obtained a new replacement but this is not shown on pictures. The ashtray which shows this has been a non-smoker's car. Note the boost gauge is only lightly fixed in place. We can supply a universal A-Pilar pod or a better way of mounting this inexpensively if desired. Note the lack of corrosion, or oil leaks on the underside. Engine bay is also in excellent condition, with no rust on bolts, etc. Even the fins on the intercooler show virtually no flattening, further indicating this car's not been driven hard (Subaru intercooler fins will flatten if the car's driven at speed in rain, for example!). We found absolutely no faults to report / needing repair. Being a 2001 model, this car offers high performance motoring, with low level UK road tax costs for the future as rule changes come in. Please be aware: This is a hand-picked example of much better quality than you may find elsewhere is the only example we currently have in stock.
