Modifications, although mild - enhance this car well and prepare it for greater power for the near future. A large bore Fujitsubo Hyper Medallion stainless steel exhaust system is fitted from the catalyst - back. Induction is improved with the use of an RE Amemiya induction kit. A neat Blitz blow off valve complete with it's own little mesh filter sits alongside. Inside, the first visible improvement are a pair of stunning nearly new matching Reclinable Recaro seats. A Sabelt 4 point harness is fitted for the driver - more for cosmetic reasons than for race use, but useful all the same for driving on trackdays as it hold the driver into the seat. A Momo leather steering wheel has replaced the standard item. A Blitz dual turbo timer is installed with double sided velcro tape to the underside of the steering column's plastic trim (velcro tape is in need of replacement. On the dashboard, site 3 useful Greddy gauges showing boost, oil temperature and exhaust temperature. These also have programmable warning lights and an audiable signal. A Kenwood DMX960Z 40W x 4 high quality hifi is fitted. Aside from a digital amplifier, it also has CD/MD Radio. Speakers are also uprated. Audio comes free of charge. As an option, we can remove this and send by post to avoid any possible pilferage, although usually cars are safe going to Southampton as they're collected very soon after arrival. Note also the alloy billet gearknob.Wheels are original Forged lightweight Gram Lights, produced by Rays and are of 17" size, with sports tyres of size 235/40/ZR17 255/40/ZR17. Please note that front tyres are worn to the legal limit and rears will soon need replacing also. Suspension is uprated with Mazdaspeed adjustable coil over suspension fitted with Eibach springs. The current setting is for firm yet comfortable road use, giving some improvements in handling over the standard RX-7 suspension. Original equipment includes: Alloy 'RX-7' sill step plates, twin oil coolers (best for keeping oil within the safe operating temperature), PAS, E/W, E/M, A/C, 3 channel ABS, original fitted mats (front only). The original tool kit is complete and unused. As we had a spare, we have added an optional additional tool tray. Also fitted is the factory rear strut brace. A factory option rear parcel shelf is not fitted, although one can be obtained at low cost if required - advisable, as the rear hatch on this example is not tinted.
We test drove this RX-7 thoroughly for handling, acceleration and braking, and found it drives very well. Signs also show the engine's been regularly maintained, with a recent oil and filter change carried out. Engine and a complete mechanical integrity check was carried thoroughly. There are no faults at all to report and the car feels tight and rattle free. With a car of such low weight, standard power is plenty with 0-60 in around 5 seconds and a top speed of 160 mph. Handling is also amongst the very best available, with double wishbone alloy suspension, uprated with Mazdaspeed coilovers.The interior is in completely unmarked condition with no faults to report. It's also been owned by a non smoker since new. Auction grade is 3.5 from Toyota Auto Auction. Their main reason for not awarding the car a grade 4 is age and that the front n/s wing has been replaced at some point in the car's life. Exterior is in superb condition throughout. As with all the cars we stock, to check it thoroughly we washed and checked the bodywork on this car. There are 2 pin dents on the n/s door. Also one small pin dent on the rear n/s corner. These are only light and certainly don't require repair (Not visible unless you look very carefully) although we'll repair as part of preparation in the UK, to present the car to our usual high standards. Note that the front lip spoiler is scratched, although being PVC this is not easily noticable. The wheels are in excellent condition, although we noted there is some peeling paint on the rear rims. This can be easily repaired, at low additional cost of required. Clearly this car has been owned by a fastidiously fussy Japanese person. It's evident it's been well looked after with a significant amount spent over time on parts to improve it.
