The Corvette is one of America's most admired and sought after muscle sports cars. Endowed with a V8 5.7 litre (350 Cubic Inch) tuned port V8 putting out 300 bhp and 340 ft lbs of torque, this is a true sports car. Wheels at each corner are Bridgestone Potenza RE71's with 275/40/ZR17 sports tyres but the torque is so much, you can just switch off the ASR system and smoke the tyres to your heart's content whilst leaving thick black streaks of rubber, or just relax and hear the velvet V8 rumble of the beast when cruising and driving sensibly. With the ARS switched on, acceleration to 60 is around 5 seconds and it'll go onto highly illegal speeds whilst maintaining a controlled and comfortable ride. Suspension is controlled by alloy double wishbone suspension at each corner with Bilstein gas filled dampers. A Vette C4 can pull around 1G on the skid pan. The body's made of high quality glass reinforced plastic, so it's resistant to supermarket pin dents and corrosion yet endowed with deep sills for rigidity and engineered to meet the most stringent American safety requirements. This is one solid car.

Being a 1996 model C4, the interior is much more modern than earlier C4's and higher spec'd. Equipment level is outstanding and comprehensive. The acrylic blue tinted roof can be removed with the original tool located in the centre console within minutes and be safely stored in the rear, whilst still allowing luggage to be carried beneath. Full leather seats with embossed headrests are each 12 way electrically adjustable, including lumbar and thigh support. A computer allows the driver to see engine's temperatures, oil pressure as well as all aspects of fuel and trip info. The speedo's digital display can also be changed instantly to show speed and odometer reading in miles or kms. Cruise control is located on the indicator stalk. Dual SRS airbags are fitted and the steering wheel is also leather trimmed and ABS and auto central locking are also part of the safety spec. Carpet is deep pile and of high quality and comes complete with original embossed fitted mats. Climate control A/C and factory tinted windows keep the interior as cool looking as the exotic exterior in hot summers. The high quality factory audio system includes radio, cassette and CD player. Windows, mirrors and central locking are electric, as is the rear match release, located in the centre console. The sun visors each have illuminated mirrors. The fuel filler cap is lockable and there is a Viper alarm system also fitted. Note that the original tool for removal of the roof and the locking wheel's key are located in the centre console.

The headlights are of course electrically operated and have clear RHD conversion units - which are of a more modern design, whist also being suited legal for use on UK roads.

This Corvette was originally supplied from new in Japan where it has always been registered in Tokyo, so it's chassis and underbody is completely rust free. In addition, this example is of very genuinely low mileage and has been beautifully preserved. This is a one owner car since new and has never been smoked in. Servicing has evidently been regularly carried out too - with it's most recent service having only just been completed.

Auction grade is 4- (Auction sheet is available). Interior is unmarked. There's some very mild creasing to the leather from use over the years - although there are no cracks developing. It appears this car's leather has been regularly treated, as other Corvette leather interiors we have seen in the past have rarely been this good (Please see full pictures of the interior). Exterior is also immaculate and well preserved except for some chips to the paint on each door edge and a 2cm scratch on the o/s/r bumper corner. Each of these minor faults will be professionally repaired whist this car's being prepared by ourselves.


Please don't compare this example with the usual average examples available elsewhere. The single previous owner of this Corvette has cared for it very well and it's likely this car's also been garaged since new. Close up, it's simply perfect. Low mileage mint Corvettes of this quality and calibre are extremely rare.
