DESCRIPTION
Nowadays finding a good R32 GT-R is becoming increasingly hard as time takes it's toll and so few owners give these cars the care they deserve. Destined to become one of Japan's most prized classics, the good well looked after & rust free examples are now firmly strenghtening in price as collectors have begun to realise pristine examples have become an increasingly rare & difficult to find breed. This example has been beautifully preserved and endowed with a wide selection of parts to fine tune & improve every aspect of performance to provide a well prepared fast road / track spec GT-R. The sum of all parts fitted is considerable in addition to starting with a pristine & well kept body. Clearly the previous owner loved his GT-R & spent vast amounts on this car regardless of cost to enhance it's performance.This particular car was sourced by ourselves directly from the owner who'd kept it the last 4 years and was only sold because he was about to become a father and a car like this wouldn't suit his family needs. So after purchasing, we drove it 200km with varying roads & speeds and can report it's beautifully sorted. This is gem amongst R32 GT-R's! Drivetrain Performance improvements: Making approx 430 bhp this car is running a conservative 1.1 bar currently. Power & handling have been improved to make a car that's as adept for attacking favourite country roads as marking it's presence at track events. A Mines’s Sports resetting ECU controls fueling for Nismo 06U00 turbos fitted with HKS Actuators combined with a Trust Blitz SBC boost controller. A Nismo fuel pressure regulator & Nismo in-tank fuel pump supply increased fuel flow. Air is introduced via an HKS SPF induction kit via a Trust Hard pipe kit through a Trust 3 row intercooler. Further cooling improvement is taken care of by a Koyo double capacity aluminium radiator combined with Samco hoses. Radiator air-flow is enhanced with an ARC Titanium cooling panel & expelled with the aid a Varis FRP vented bonnet. There is also a 13 row bumper (nearside) mounted oil cooler kit with remote oil filter mount & Earl’s fittings. Tomei Poncam Type R camshafts are fitted (In 250 / Out 250) using Trust Aluminium cam sprockets & Trust Timing belt cover (The timing belt, tensioner & idler pulleys were changed when these were fitted at 31,000km). Ignition is taken care of via a BNR34 CAS sensor, ignition amplifier, Splitfire coilpack set & HKS Iridium (8) racing plugs. Exhaust tuning is via a Fujitsubo Stainless equal length front pipe, SARD Sports Catalyser & HKS Super Turbo Muffler. The entire exhaust system is made of Stainless 304 grade steel. Power is transmitted via an OS Giken Twin plate clutch (With plenty of life remaining). The rear differential cover has been replaced with a V-Spec finned unit) and shift movement is improved with the use of a Nismo (10%) short shift kit. The engine's cam covers have been custom painted with a metal fleck finish that is especially apparent in direct sunlight. A nismo oil filler cap completes the cosmetic presentation of the engine bay.Braking & suspension: HKS Hyper Max coilovers are fitted with spring rates suited for fast road use (F: 8kg/mm, R: 7kg/mm) also equipped with TEIN helper springs (C-Spanners are neatly mounted in the boot). A TEIN front tower bar, Cusco rear tower bar & a pair of Cusco B pilar bars help improve rigidity (B Pilar bars look like part of a roll cage). Cusco pillow tension rods provide improved steering response and geometry control is further improved with the use of Nismo front upper links, R-selection rear adjustable upper links & aluminium bush rings on rear subframe. Braking performance has been well enhanced with an R33 GT-R Brembo caliper conversion combined with with Nismo brake hoses, Project Mu 2-piece floating front rotors, Project Mu slit rear rotors, Titanium backing plates & sports compound brake pads. There are also quite rare Nismo Brake Air guides to channel cooling air to the front rotors. In the engine bay there's a Cusco brake master cylinder stopper for improved pedal feel. Note that HICAS has been removed / deleted on this car.Cosmetic Improvements: As mentioned above, the vented bonnet (Which helps improve air flow performance) is by Varis. You'll notice the N1 front lip is included as part of the design. N1 headlights are fitted in combination with a Catz HID conversion and there are original Nismo front bumper vents also fitted. To maximise air flow through the intercooler the number plate is fitted using a BNR32 specific aluminium mounting as shown in pictures. Nismo style side spats, rear mudguard extensions and boot lip have been fitted too. Note also the original option side visor set. LED crystal style tail lights are also fitted.Wheels are 17 x 9J Enkei RP-F1's with McGard (locking) wheel nuts. Bridgestone Potenza road legal S-tyres are fitted. These will give excellent grip on the circuit, but will be prone to tramlining on badly worn roads due to hard sidewalls. They were quite expensive new and their extreme performance would be wasted on the roads - so it may be best to remove them and keep aside for trackdays and fit normal sports tyres (Which are available at good discount in UK & can be fitted by RK tuning during preparation if preferred).Interior Improvements: Recaro SR-III matching seats with Recaro seat rails, with driver's seat being a rare limited edition inscribed model. We noticed the seat rail on the driver's side doesn't go all the way to the back. For very tall drivers this may need investigating - but for ourselves it was fine. A Nismo short shift kit improves feel of the transmission. A Nismo 320km/h speedometer combined with a Greddy Intelligent Informeter provide all the information about speed. In the glovebox is a bespoke HKS gauge and controller display trim housing Defi Link II controller, Defi 60mm Oil temp & Oil pressure gauges + an HKS turbo timer and the Trust SBC boost controller. On the A-Pilar there's a Trust bespoke BNR32 gauge mount with Defi 60mm Turbo boost & Water temperature displays. This was a non-smoker's car, so the ashtray was removed and the air conditioning panel moved all the way down to make space for a 2 DIN Kenwood 200W head unit. Note that speakers are also improved on each corner, inclusive of remote tweeters at the front. Genuine leather gaiters for the handbrake & shift lever have replaced originals and there's a Nismo billet shift knob too. A Momo "Race" 325mm steering wheel mounted to a short boss compliments the dashboard styling improvements. On each of the doors there are carbon "look" panels & handle inserts. There's a Hornet V820 alarm inclusive of both remote control fobs and there's also a rare Nismo key together with the original "GT-R" key. Floor pedals have original option aluminium covers and there's also a full Nismo floor mat set.
Further Improvements recommended: As this car has a remapped original ECU and this is set for use in Japan, in order to safely run higher levels of boost than 1.1 bar we'd recommend an Apexi Power FC, larger injectors and Nismo air flow meters to enable up to 1.4 bar (550 bhp approx) be mapped for UK fuels. We can supply a used Power FC (Or new if preferred) inexpensively with latest EL type display on hand held controller and would recommend RK tuning as an excellent no nonsense experienced tuner to fine tweak an existing base map. To further modernise the looks of this car we would recommend fitting original Nissan rear badge and front wing badges (Which have been deleted). A Tomei rear badge would also look excellent! We can also supply wilder parts like Abflug front and rear carbon diffusers. Standard equipment includes: ABS, Atessa 4WD, Climate Control A/C, PAS, Central Locking, rear wiper, sports velour seats, etc. This car has evidently been fastidiously maintained. The engine bay, interior, carpets, indicator stalk, pedal rubbers, oil pressure, etc. - all indicate low wear and no abuse.
Interior Condition: This has been a non-smoker's car and interior condition is excellent throughout. Seats are all in excellent condition and it's notable the dashboard isn't bubbled from exposure to strong sunlight over the years - as most examples have.
Exterior: Condition of all panels, paintwork and underside are first class. The cars evidently been polished regularly and despite the tuning work, it's not been driven hard - judging by the lack of stone chips. There's a few very minor faults to report - for the sake of complete description. These are: Small scratches on the n/s/r quarter where some light touch up paint has been applied. Not easily apparent. The front lip spoiler has some scratches to the bottom edge, which have also been touched in. Wheels have a couple of very light scratches on the edges only. None of these faults are large enough to require repair. There are the usual dents on the front jacking points - which are a result of a design fault (When the standard jack is used these always collapse). As a result of this, the front chassis legs have some dents on also where the car's been jacked up on these instead. Completely normal on 32 GT-R's, but mentioned to give a complete report.
Note the body and underside are completely devoid of rust. Try finding an example this well preserved for sale elsewhere & we bet you can't!
Engine & Test Drive: After careful warming and extensive checks we took this car out to test & can confirm it drives very, very well! It's got strong power and all signs of a well maintained car. Excellent oil pressure ((5kg/cm2 cold & 2.5 kg/m2 when warm) at idle shows this is a strong engine in good health. Engine has absolutely no signs of wear with strong oil pressure, it's super smooth too. Clutch feels near new & and the gearbox is notably smooth and lacking in any of the often found signs of synchro wear found on these cars. We test drove this example for around 200 kms and found no faults to report at all. Car pulls strongly from just under 3,000 rpm with power climbing all the way through the power range and the cams make the engine sing well at top of the rev range. Running at 1.1 bar this car will produce close to 430 bhp whilst offering tremendous levels of braking and road holding. Make no mistake - this is a car that will send your adrenalin levels rocketting if you drive it to full potential.
There is a thick folder with detailed listing of all the parts fitted, manuals & literature too. The oils were kindly changed by the previous owner just before we collected it and the car even filled with a full tank of petrol. He was certainly sad to see it go - and in parting, asked for pictures of the car with it's new owner in future. It's clear he loved every moment of ownership of this Skyline GT-R and was sad to see it go.
