This stunning condition Skyline GT-R V-Spec has been lavished with Nismo cosmetics, Aragosta coilovers and Nismo suspension modifications together with Mines stage 1 tuning. It's been impeccably kept and shows all signs of a car that's been gently used. These conspire to make a responsive and entirely usable road car for the UK, capable of a reliable 400 - 420 bhp with minor upgrades.
Aesthetic exterior improvements: The headlights have been uprated at cost of around £1,000 to the 1997 model's Xenon clear units together with HID and super white bulbs. These don't only look great, but also give very powerful lighting too. The front lip is also of the later type too - deeper and more purposeful. The front intercooler vents are original Nismo options as are the rear valence extensions and carbon rear spoiler end caps. Clear front indicators and side repeaters (Nismo) also help give it a much more modern look. Paintwork bodywork is superb and unmarked throughout. These gorgeous wheels are Racing Hart CP-035R 2 piece fully forged items of 18'' diameter with near new Bridgestone Potenza's legendary RE-01 road tyres of size: 265/35/ZR18 at each corner. Just on the exterior, over £4,000 has been spent on improvements.
Performance Upgrades: Mines Stage 1 tuning brings power of this example to around 370 bhp at 0.9 bar of boost. A Mines VX ROM ECU has replaced the original, enabling the car to safely run above standard boost settings as programmed into the ECU. There's a full exhaust system of the highest quality consisting of a large bore stainless downpipe, SARD high flow catalyst and a full titanium lightweight (6.5 kg only!) Ganador Racing Titan GD 771R cat back exhaust system (Sounds divine!).A double capacity uprated aluminium radiator gives added protection for track days and harder driving, in combination with a Grex thermostatically controlled (70 Deg C) oil cooler with remote filter mount (For ease of access), complete with high quality braided hoses and aero grade fittings. These modifications will allow the car to run safely on UK fuel at up to 0.9 Bar. Total cost of fitted modifications so far are approx. £3,800. To obtain 400 - 420 bhp we recommend a Power FC ECU and a Greddy Profec B II boost controller. For greater power safety when mapping, we can also fit SARD 700 cc uprated injectors, fuel pump fuel pressure regulator, Combine this with a full road mapping (The best method in real conditions) and it'll be perfectly set for UK safe UK use at 1 bar of boost. All tuning parts are available at discount from with mapping completed by ourselves, or if preferred at your choice of tuner.
Suspension Modifications: TOP QUALITY Aragosta coilovers are fitted. These are the very best on the market now in Japan and have been adopted by the top tuners here as the brand they will associate themselves with. These are not only built to the highest standards with alloy bodies and top quality valving, but also have adjustable lower mounts, for ride height adjustability independent of spring preload, as well as top adjustable damping. There's even a knob at the top of each unit at the rear at the parcel shelf, for easy access). These are especially recommended Nismo as replacements which enhance handling and grip, yet retain comfort and composure for road use. Although the ride height is slightly lowered, it remains high enough for general use. To help improve suspension composure under hard power even further, Nismo's upper and lower suspension arms with uprated bushes are fitted to the rear, combined with Nismo's full uprated upper suspension arms and links at the front. There are Top Secret annodised alloy front tie rods, which help improve turn in and steering accuracy even further. All these modifications combined help to make a very accurately handling car, with excellent poise. Modifications here cost in the region of £4,000 fitted in Japan.
Interior improvements: From brand new, this car had a full Nismo black face instrument cluster inclusive of a 320 km/h speedometer, complete with matching Nismo Centre console gauges. These have different scale to original and read higher boost, etc. A Nardi deep dish sports steering wheel has replaced the original. There's a Blitz Dual Auto turbo timer to help cool the car after a hard drive. Note there's an original Nissan option CD plater head unit fitted. Interior is outstanding in condition, with no faults to report.
Main Specifications include: Hicas 4WS, ATTESA system for electronic 4WD bias control, Brembo brakes, Climate Control A/C, PAS, Central Locking, ABS, velour seats, tinted windows, adjustable rear spoiler, original full set of fitted mats, rear privacy glass, etc.
Auction grade is 4 (Auction sheet is available). The exterior is in outstanding condition. As usual we washed the car and checked it carefully. The panels are straight with just clean lines just as it came from the factory with. We found just 2 tiny stone chips on the bonnet, 2 tiny ones on the n/s/f wing, another tiny one on the passenger door and a pin dent on the driver's door. Each of these minor faults will be repaired as part of full UK is car's condition is a testament to the care and thought that have gone into not only keeping this example pristine, but also in using only the best parts when improving it. In total, in excess of £12,500 was spent in Japan on improvements to this car over standard.
Condition is excellent and clearly this car's been cared for fastidiously well. Brakes show little wear - indicating gentle use. The engine bay is in original and clean condition. It's also notable that the car shows no signs at all of rust underneath or in the engine bay. TThe engine has very high oil pressure from cold at over 5kg/cm2. Once warmed to normal operating temp it shows almost 3 kg/cm2. These are signs of an excellent engine that's been carefully maintained. The black paint on the inlet manifold is still intact - which serves to indicate the car's not been used mostly for short trips, but for longer journeys. This has been a non smoker's car since new - ashtray and cigar lighter are unused.
Test Drive: Reveals this car as tight and very well preserved. Idle is silky smooth from start up, no rattles or squeaks from the interior, good smooth braking stability. Engine note is sporty without being excessively loud. Induction roar is heard through the induction kit and the sound of the dump valves are audiable when the throttle's released. Power is approx 370 bhp in present tune. It feels like a car that's never been driven hard and there is evidence this is the case, given that the original and body kit paintwork is excellent with very few stone chips. All signs show this hasn't been a Skyline that's been driven hard and modifications are sensible to improve the car yet still allow it to remain relaxing to drive for daily use.
