2003 Subaru Impreza STI 8 RA V-Ltd. Spec. C. Sonic Blue Met |
For those in the know, this is the best version of Impreza STI produced yet by Subaru. The STI 8 Spec R V-Limited is stiffer, more spaceous, better handling, safer and better engineered than the best of the GC8 models, the 2 door coupe Type R models, made until the end of 2000. For this version, Subaru have pulled out all the stops to make a true driver's car:
The turbo is a twin scroll ball bearing unit. There's a 12 litre tank in the boot spanning from one side to the other, which feeds water either through a manually operated switch, or automatically - to the intercooler, to reduce charge temperature. The best feature of this model is a combination of the stronger 6 speed close ratio gearbox with a sophisticated adjustable cen [...] |

2003 Subaru Impreza STi 8 (HKS GTRS Turbo) Blue Metallic |
This is by far the best prepared Impreza STi 8 we've come across so far at auctions in Japan! It's been prepared with HKS components mostly. Specification is impressive, but the drive this car gives is far, far better than we could have expected. First, here's the spec:
Engine: HKS Roller bearing GT RS Turbo unit, HKS uprated top mount Intercooler, Apexi induction Kit complete with cold air shroud and sealed bonnet section - fed with cold air from the front. J Speed Alloy Large Core radiator wih blue silicone Samco hoses. HKS Full Exhaust System inc downpipe. A non turbo - but still capable of producing 220 bhp and 289 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. Not far short of it's similar brother, the Legacy B4, whose power figures equate to 260 bhp and 319 NM of torque at 5,000 rpm. Transmission is of course permanent 4WD with 4 Speed Auto / Tiptronic complete with switchable modes for power or hold functions. Suspension struts are Bilstein at each corner - as factory standard. 2003 Subaru Impreza Sti Version 8 JDM Version. Sonic Blue Metallic |
The JDM Sti 8 is of better specification than the lesser equipped UK versions. The STI 8 Japanese spec. model is stiffer, more spaceous, better handling, safer and better engineered than the best of the GC8 models, the 2 door coupe Type R models, made until the end of 2000. For this version, Subaru pulled out all the stops to make a true driver's machine. Note that only Japanese spec Sti 8's have the quick steering rack and DCCD fitted as standard. These give a very significant difference in drivability compared to UK cars - the equivalent to an Sti 8 WR1 in UK. The Sti 9 has now been released. Identical beneath the skin, the Sti 9's styling is almost as unpopular as the Sti 7. If only Subaru had left the styling of the 8 [...] |

1996 Subaru Impreza STi Version 3 Silver |
The STi Version 3 is one of the most interesting and capable of the previous model 4 door Imprezas. It was on the STi Version 3 that Subaru chose to introduce 4 piston signature front brake calipers. The STi 2 and 3 models also carried the largest turbo of this range which was the same unit as fitted to the rare 22B variants. The engines are Sti Blueprinted units with stronger internals and an 8,000 rpm rev limit (Normal WRX's are 7,000) packing 280+ bhp. The STi 3 is also distinguishable by it's updated vented bonnet, light blue tint on windows, updated gold alloy wheels (Same design was used all t [...] |

1998 Subaru Impreza Sti Version 5 Type R White |
This Impreza was originally supplied to our customer in Spring of 2002 - as the best low mileage Version 5 Type R Sti we could find in Japan. When exported it had only 6,000 miles from new - and was of course in as new condition! This was the 3rd car supplied by Newera for this particular customer, who'd first bought a car from us in 1999. As an avid Japanese car enthusiast, he added modifications as listed below (At considerable expense!) to not only make the car safe for UK fuels, but to also increase power - whilst paying particular attention to the engine's health. In addition, handling upgrades have been added, as well as cosmetic ones. Essentially, for UK use - this car is perfectly prepared and a daily use ca [...] |
